I took the spotlighted photo the day we were walking through what would become the new Phoenix Theater when it was about 70% finished. We were still fundraising and in about 6 months I would move to Cali and have been doing work behind the scenes and not physically on stage.....until now.

Its been a difficult process reconciling the loss of Bryan Fonseca as a friend and professional mentor. I wouldn't have a theater career without him. So many of us in the city wouldn't. So as I have been rehearsing for Ma Rainey I'm thankful for the opportunity with Naptown African American Theater Company to come full circle....August Wilson's Two Trains Running was my first professional show at the old Phoenix and now I get to be in another of his classics.

Feeling nostalgic, wanting to pay homage and recognize a man who if not for him...the building I'll take to the stage on wouldn't even exist.
