St. Paul's Choir is auditioning section leaders for its 50+ voice intergenerational choir. Openings are for ALTO, TENOR, and BASS. The choir is supported by eight section leaders who lead worship at weekly Eucharists at 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., twice-monthly Choral Mattins, monthly Choral Evensong, in addition to concerts and special liturgies throughout the year. Because of the vigorous rotation of music, excellent sight reading skills are essential to these positions. Section leaders also are mentors for the volunteer singers in the choir, and for young singers whose voices are changing or newly-changed. Our last day at Ely Cathedral was bittersweet. We have felt so welcome here, and it has truly been a home away from home. Saying goodbye was not easy.
We sang as a part of morning Eucharist today, followed by our final Evensong.
Once we returned to Cambridge, we all enjoyed a fantastic banquet to commemorate an unforgettable week together.
Tomorrow morning we begin our Pilgrimage back home!

Saturday morning the choir went punting down the beautiful River Cam, passing through several of Cambridge’s historic colleges. We followed with Evensong No. 5 in the afternoon.

Sunday is our final day at Ely Cathedral!

Free day in London today!
We began together at Buckingham Palace to watch the Changing of the Guard.
Afterward, part of our group chose to go to the Tower of London while the rest went to Westminster Abby.
We ended the day with an optional Evensong at St Paul’s Cathedral, sung by our friends from St Phillip’s Cathedral in Atlanta.

It was a very special day for our trebles and teens. They sang Evensong at Ely by themselves, featuring a Canticles setting by Wayne Marshall and a Responses setting by Sarah MacDonald. Both of these local English composers came to Evensong this evening to hear our trebles rehearse and perform their works.
They were quite encouraging of our wonderful St Paul’s trebles and teens, and they all had selfies and autographs after the service.
Our St Paul’s singers of all ages were ecstatic to meet them both. What a treat!

Today was a big day at Ely! We performed a lunchtime concert followed by Evensong No. 3, both in the beautiful Lady Chapel.

Here are some pictures and a few recordings from our rehearsal prior to our concert in Ely’s Lady Chapel. It was quite a gracious and appreciative audience, and the choir sounded absolutely magnificent.

We also celebrated a very special 16th birthday for Sinead!
