The Absence released their debut full-length studio album โ€œFrom Your Graveโ€ on September 6th, 2005 via Metal Blade Records.

(Pictured is the original Metal Blade release).

๐—•๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ:
The Absence is an American Melodic Death Metal band from Tampa, Florida. Their style has been described as aggressive Thrash Metal with Scandinavian Metal influences.

The Absence are a band whose furious guitar work, monstrous vocals, and pummeling rhythms have won them the approval of discerning fans of Extreme Metal. The band were formed in 2001 by vocalist Jamie Stewart and guitarist Patrick Pintavalle; both were veterans of the Tampa Metal community but believed that the scene was growing stale and needed fresh blood. At the time, both Stewart and Pintavalle were fans of the then-new breed of Scandinavian Metal, which they embraced as a key inspiration as they assembled the first lineup of The Absence; they made their debut in 2002, playing an opening set for Mastodon. However, neither Stewart nor Pintavalle were happy with the group's progress, and they began working up material with two like-minded friends, guitarist Peter Joseph and drummer Jeramie Kling. While they were all pleased with the results, Joseph and Kling were busy with another band and couldn't commit to the band full-time. However, in time that changed, and in 2005 Stewart, Pintavalle, Joseph, Kling, and bassist Nick Calaci came together as The Absence and recorded a demo that impressed Metal Blade Records enough to sign the band. โ€” AllMusic Bio.

In the fall of 2005, after The Absence released โ€œFrom Your Graveโ€, the group toured extensively in support of the disc, both as a headliner and opening for the likes of ION DISSONANCE, Entombed, Through The Eyes Of The Dead, Dead To Fall, and Nuclear Assault.

Obituary released their fourth studio album, โ€œWorld Demiseโ€ on September 6th, 1994 via Roadrunner Records.

(Pictured are the original Roadrunner CD release and the cassette single for โ€œDonโ€™t Careโ€)

The album was produced by Scott Burns and Obituary & was recorded from 1993-1994 at Morrisound Recording, Tampa, Florida. It was mastered by George Marino (R.I.P. 2012) at Sterling Sound, New York, NY.

A single for โ€œDonโ€™t Careโ€ was released on July 26, 1994, and a music video was also filmed for the track to promote โ€œWorld Demiseโ€.

The track, โ€œKill For Meโ€ contains "a sample from RM Arts Presents: Repercussions, a Celebration of African American Music".

Although โ€œWorld Demiseโ€ did not sell as well as โ€œThe End Completeโ€, it still managed to reach the top 100 in several territories, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands. In support of โ€œWorld Demiseโ€, the band toured the US with Na**lm Death and a then-unknown Machine Head, and Europe with Pitchshifter and EYEHATEGOD.

โ€œWorld Demiseโ€ was reissued by Roadrunner Records on January 27th 2004 as a part of Roadrunner's Two from the Vault series remastered along with โ€œThe End Completeโ€ on 2 CD's, CD 2 has the same bonus tracks as the 1998 reissue.

Satyricon released their fourth studio album, โ€œRebel Extravaganzaโ€ on September 6th, 1999 via MoonFog Productions.

๐—•๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ:
Satyr viewed โ€œRebel Extravaganzaโ€ as an album that embodies both inhuman and anti-human characteristics: "The lyrics are very misanthropic and I feel the album itself is quite cold and cynical. It's not that emotional, it's more lifeless in a way."

While the album incorporates industrial elements, Frost contended that this aspect of the album has been overblown: "I don't hear as much of an industrial influence in Satyricon's music...I know that several people found โ€œRebel Extravaganzaโ€ to have lots of industrial qualities and influences, but I can hear them in very few places, not dominating the album in any way."

On the album, the band have commented that Black Metal "had come to a point where romance and bloodsucking seemed more important than darkness and extremity".

RUSH released their second official compilation โ€œChroniclesโ€ on September 4th, 1990 via Anthem/Mercury Records.

The collection was the band's first album to be released in the 1990s, though it was assembled without the participation of the band. A companion edition of RUSH music videos from 1981 to 1987, titled โ€œChronicles: The Video Collectionโ€, was also released on VHS and laserdisc. The video edition was re-named, and re-released on a single DVD in 2001, titled โ€œRUSH Chronicles โ€“ The DVD Collectionโ€, with two additional video tracks that are hidden Easter eggs.

Swedish Death Metal band Aeon released their second full-length studio album โ€œRise to Dominateโ€ on September 3rd, 2007 via Metal Blade Records.

In April 2006, the band toured with Cannibal Co**se in Europe and signed a record deal with Metal Blade Records in July. Hjelm departed from Aeon in mid-2006, but Max Carlberg filled his position in September. The second full-length album, โ€œRise to Dominateโ€, was recorded in April 2007 at Empire Studio, mixed and mastered by Dan Swanรถ at Unisound Studios and released in September 2007. Fjellstrรถm joined Dark Funeral on a tour in October 2007, but rejoined Aeon in February 2008.

During 2008, Aeon started to work on the next studio album. In January 2009, the band toured in Europe with Hate Eternal, Misery Index and See You Next Tuesday. In September, Carlberg departed and was replaced by Victor Brandt of Satyricon. The members commented Carlberg's departure: "Being on tour in a not-so-known Death Metal band like Aeon often means really tough conditions and bad economy. We totally understand that not everyone can put up with this way of life."

Pestilence released their third studio album โ€œTestimony of the Ancientsโ€ on September 3rd, 1991 via Roadrunner Records.

Some sources indicate that the album was released on September 3rd and others suggest it was released on September 6th of 1991.

(Pictured is the original 1991 Roadrunner release)

Following the departure of former bassist/vocalist Martin VanDrunen, guitarist Patrick Mameli took over vocal duties. Mameli steered the band towards a more melodic and technical approach. The resulting concept album, โ€œTestimony of the Ancientsโ€ contrasted brutal death metal riffs with melodic interludes and tackled what John Serba describes as, "strangely philosophical, and oddly compelling, subject matter". After each song on the album, there was an instrumental outro track. This attempt to push the boundaries of death metal, at a time when the scene was saturated with copycat "one track minded" bands, mirrored the efforts of fellow progressive bands Atheist and Death who released โ€œUnquestionable Presenceโ€ and โ€œHumanโ€ respectively in 1991, the same year as โ€œTestimonyโ€. The album can also be seen as a stepping stone on the way to the following Pestilence album โ€œSpheresโ€, which departed still further from traditional death metal and headed towards jazz fusion.

โ€œTestimony of the Ancientsโ€ was reissued, along with Consuming Impulse, on Roadrunner Records' Two from the Vault series.

Entombed released their seventh full-length studio album โ€œMorning Starโ€ on September 3rd, 2001 via Threeman Recordings / Music For Nations.

The album is more experimental than previous efforts, and shows the band returning to a more traditional Death Metal sound overall, though without completely abandoning elements of Death 'N' Roll. The album also introduces a handful of straightforward, fast-paced Death/Thrash tracks, a first for the band at the time.

A video was made for the track "I for an Eye".

๐—”๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฆ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜€:
The lyrics for the song "I For An Eye" were written by Orvar Sรคfstrรถm who was also stand-in vocalist for the band in 1991 on the EP โ€œCrawlโ€.

The song "When It Hits Home" is influenced by the 1997 film The Devil's Advocate.

The lyrics to "Chief Rebel Angel" are in several cases based on quotes from The Devil's Advocate film:

โ€ข John Milton: "I'm here on the ground with my nose in it since the whole thing began! I've nurtured every sensation man has been inspired to have! I cared about what he wanted and I never judged him! Why? Because I never rejected him, in spite of all his imperfections! I'm a fan of man!"

โ€ข John Milton: "Don't get too cocky, my boy. No matter how good you are... ...don't let them see you coming. That's the gaffe, my friend. You gotta keep yourself small. Innocuous. Be the little guy. You know, the nerd, the l***r. The sh*tkicking surfer. Look at me. Underestimated from day one. You'd never think I was a master of the universe, would you?"

โ€ข John Milton: "I have been watching. Couldn't help myself. Watching. Waiting. Holding my breath. But I'm no puppeteer, Kevin. I don't make things happen. Doesn't work like that. ... It's like butterfly wings. Once touched, they never get off the ground. I only set the stage. You pull your own strings."

In 2001, the band worked with performance artists Carina Reich and Bogdan Szyberb, and the Royal Swedish Ballet. The production was entitled โ€œUnreal Estateโ€.

AllMusic's Eduardo Rivadavia gave โ€œHorrorscopeโ€ a positive review, awarding it 4.5 stars out of five and stating, "The insecurity felt among Overkill fans by the departure of founding guitarist and key songwriter Bobby Gustafson in 1990 ultimately proved unfounded when the New York Thrashers' expanded two-guitar lineupโ€”featuring Rob Cannavino and Merritt Gantโ€”arguably delivered the finest effort of the group's career in 1991's Horrorscope.โ€

The album reached No. 29 on the U.S. Billboard Heatseekers chart and as of 2010 remains Overkill's best-selling album of the Nielsen SoundScan era, having sold over 120,000 copies in the U.S.

In a 2013 article by WhatCulture!, the album was ranked fourth on their list of "10 Greatest Thrash Metal Albums of All Time".

Iron Maiden released their fifth full-length studio album โ€œPowerslaveโ€ on September 3rd, 1984 via EMI Records in Europe and its sister label Capitol Records in North America.

It was re-released by Sanctuary and Columbia Records in the United States in 2002.

The album's cover artwork is notable for its Ancient Egyptian theme. That theme, taken from the title track, was carried over to the album's supporting tour, the โ€œWorld Slavery Tourโ€. This began in Warsaw, Poland, on August 9, 1984; it is widely regarded as being the band's longest and most arduous tour to date, and led to the live album โ€œLive After Deathโ€.

The release contains a musical re-telling of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's โ€œThe Rime of the Ancient Marinerโ€, the lyrics of which include some lines from the poem. At 13 minutes and 45 seconds in length, this was Iron Maiden's longest song for over 30 years until it was surpassed by the 18-minute "Empire of the Clouds" from the 2015 album โ€œThe Book of Soulsโ€.

โ€œPowerslaveโ€ is notable as the band's first album to feature the same personnel as their previous studio release. This lineup would remain intact for two further studio releases. It is also their last album to date to feature an instrumental piece, and the only one on which longtime member and guitarist Dave Murray does not have a songwriting credit.

"2 Minutes to Midnight" and "Aces High" were released as singles.

Following the conclusion of their highly successful โ€œWorld Piece Tourโ€ in December 1983, during which Iron Maiden headlined large venues and arenas in the US for the first time in their career, the band took three weeks off in January 1984, before regrouping at Le Chalet Hotel in Jersey where they rehearsed for six weeks. As with โ€œPowerslave'sโ€ predecessor โ€œPiece of Mindโ€ (1983), this was where most of the album's writing took place; the band then began recording it at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas.

Bassist Steve Harris recalled how, under time pressure, the song "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" was written in a relatively short space of time. Influenced by Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem of the same name (drawing heavily from his 1815โ€“16 gloss), the song directly quotes two passages from the poem, the former including the famous lines: 'Water, water everywhere โ€“ nor any drop to drink'. At over thirteen minutes long, the track contains several distinct sections with differing moods and would become a fan favourite. During the 2008โ€“09 Somewhere Back in Time World Tour, guitarist Dave Murray, vocalist Bruce Dickinson and Harris cited the song as their favorite to play live.

Once finished, the band undertook another short break while the album was mixed at Electric Lady Studios, New York, before reconvening in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to rehearse for the โ€œWorld Slavery Tourโ€. The tour began in Poland in August 1984 and ended in California in July 1985. The stage set echoed the album cover, including monumental pedestals several stories high, atop which the musicians appeared at times during the show. The set amply filled even the gigantic proscenium of Radio City Music Hall. The tour was the first time a Heavy Metal band had taken a full set behind the Iron Curtain, visiting Poland and Hungary, a landmark achievement at the time. It continued into South America โ€“ the first time the band had toured there โ€“ where they played to an estimated audience of 300,000 at the inaugural Rock in Rio as special guests of the band Queen. The โ€œLive After Deathโ€ album and video, recorded over four nights at Long Beach Arena in LA and Hammersmith Odeon in London, were also released; these respectively peaked at No. 2 and No. 1 in the UK charts.

In total, the tour was eleven months long and touched 28 countries. โ€œPowerslaveโ€ debuted at No. 2 in the UK Albums Chart, as a result of their record company EMI's third โ€œNow That's What I Call Music!โ€ Pop compilation. According to both Nicko McBrain and Adrian Smith, โ€œPowerslaveโ€ began making Iron Maiden famous "very fast, very quickly", such as in Brazil, where hundreds of fans waited outside hotels and restaurants for the band.

The song "Flash of the Blade" was included on the soundtrack of Dario Argento's 1985 horror film โ€œPhenomenaโ€ and was covered by the American band Avenged Sevenfold on their double live album/DVD Live in the LBC & โ€œDiamonds in the Roughโ€. Rhapsody Of Fire have also recorded a cover of the song that is featured on the deluxe edition of their album โ€œFrom Chaos to Eternityโ€. "Flash of the Blade" can also be heard in the Jem and the Holograms episode "Kimber's Rebellion", just after the cartoon band members return home from Paris, on a boom-box stereo being carried by a passerby.

In 2017, it was ranked 38th on Rolling Stone's list of "100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time".
