Wow, did October fly by! We're thrilled that so many of our alumni were able to make the 55th reunion over homecoming weekend - it was a really special day that spoke to the ongoing and growing community that WIUP fosters for its students and alumni. And we've got a lot of great ideas in the works for being more engaged with our alumni throughout the year - stay tuned for that.

Join WIUP at The Artists Hand Gallery & Espresso Bar from 6-8pm on November 8th for Open Mic Night! From singing, playing an instrument, reading poetry, and more. Everyone is welcome whether you would like to participate or just come and watch. Performers can register at the link below, though walk-ins are also welcome. Hope to see you there!

It's the final day of our fund drive!

It's been a great weekend so far, including our College Radio Day marathon, appearances from many WIUP alumni, special live editions of The Soul Show and Jazzish, and an in-studio performance from Missing Signs!

More surprises are on the way, but one thing we know for sure is that we still need help to reach our fundraising goal.

Wow - check out everything that's happening at the Northern Appalachian Folk Festival Inc.! We can't wait to see everyone there September 6th and 7th!!

This juried exhibition provides artists with the opportunity to showcase their work, exploring themes of Appalachian spirit and fun-ness while honoring the region's diverse artistic expressions.

Save the date!

WIUP will host a reunion during Homecoming 2024 to celebrate our 55th year on the air.

The event will take place Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in Sutton Hall's Blue Room. More details and registration links will follow, but this will be a banquet event with plenty of opportunity to socialize and reconnect with your fellow WIUP alums and faculty advisors!

We are planning some other more casual activities throughout the weekend. We absolutely want to allow time for station visits, especially as this may be the last opportunity to see Davis Hall before it's demolition, set to take place in the next few years.

Feel free to share with other WIUP alumni - we can't wait to reconnect this fall!

Like a vinyl record, things have a way of coming back around! Station alum Elijah Griffin stopped by this weekend to tour campus with his son who is exploring his college options. Elijah couldn't resist the photo op, and we're happy to oblige!

We're just two hours away from Vinylthon 2024! Last year we ran 24 straight hours of live broadcasts, with DJs sourcing their music exclusively from vinyl records. This year? 48 HOURS. From 12am Saturday until 12am Monday, tune in any time to hear your favorite WIUP DJs spinning all vinyl, all weekend. Peep this weekend's special schedule below!

If you've ever wondered what it might be like to have a radio show, maybe now is your chance!

WIUP seeks on-air volunteers for the summer schedule. Shows are typically 2 hours per week, and formatting can be very flexible. We'll train you on all of the equipment, so no prior audio/radio experience is necessary. If interested, send us a private message and we can get the conversation going.
