IUP’s new and growing group, the Lettuce Eating Club, held a lettuce eating contest last Thursday in the HUB. Many contestants entered the contest, with the winner earning the title of Head Lettuce by being the fastest to devour an entire head of iceberg lettuce.👑 The group will hold a Lettuce Off near the end of each semester.🥬

Sports: The IUP baseball team brought home its seventh consecutive win as the Crimson Hawks took on Wheeling in West Virginia for a regional matchup.

The game resulted in a 16-12 victory for the Crimson Hawks. The regional win will help them in the Atlantic region postseason.

News: At this week's Student Government Association meeting the FAFSA delay, updates to SGA's Constitution and the election of new senators were discussed.

The primaries for Pennsylvania took place yesterday, April 23. IUP’s voting location, Zink Hall, saw foot traffic from students and community members alike to vote.🗳️ This specific location featured a special machine with headphones to make voting accessible for voters with vision impairments.

Philly Street Candle Bar, owned by Andrea Neiderhiser, opened in September 2021. After years of being a stay-at-home mom, Neiderhiser decided that she wanted to bring something unique to Indiana, so she opened up the candle bar!🕯️ At the candle bar, visitors get to make their own candles using a unique blend of scents that they choose. It truly is a fun, interactive and inspiring experience. Thank you to Philly Street Candle Bar for all its contributions to the community!🫶🏻

Culture: Two IUP graduates, John Ritter and Susan Burig, will be visiting IUP for the upcoming “Slenkfest.” Ritter is the head designer of IUP’s Marketing and Communications office, and Burig is a successful graphic designer that has worked on multiple Marvel films.

Graphic design, at its core, allows an artist to create inspiring visuals that capture the minds of those who view it.
