One of our original Magic Tree House musicals is based on the best selling MTH Merlin Mission, Christmas in Camelot.

Christmas in Camelot is a full length TYA Broadway-style musical in which Jack and Annie receive a royal invitation to a banquet in Camelot. Once the tree house arrives on the castle grounds, they discover that the kingdom has fallen under a dark spell - and lost all its joy.
It’s up to the young adventures to journey to the Other World and retrieve a cup of magical water in order to save Camelot - and their beloved tree house - from being lost forever!

Our musical team (Will Osborne, Randy Courts, and Jenny Laird) have taken my Magic Tree House stories and made them better than the originals. I love their music and I love seeing children and young adults perform in the shows. Singing, dancing and role-playing provide a magnificent way for kids to use their talents and imaginations. And it helps children make a beneficial connection between literacy and the arts.

Our goal is to get the books on which each show is based to students prior
to seeing the musical so that they can see the words on the page come alive on the stage. This has a powerful effect on kids making valuable literacy to art to life connections.

This musical, along with all of our MTH original shows, allows kids to see the beloved book come alive in front of their eyes and helps them make a powerful connection between literacy and art.

This particular MTH show is set to a modern hip hop groove, introduces kids to Shakespeare, and emphasizes the life lesson from the book:

Today is INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY! Jazz music unites people from all over the world!

Did you know that there is a Magic Tree House book AND original musical based on the life of one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time? Jack and Annie travel to New Orleans to meet a young LOUIS ARMSTRONG and help inspire him to share his talent with the world.

In 2011, Mary’s husband, Will Osborne collaborated with Ain’t Misbehavin’ co-creator Murray Horwitz and legendary New Orleans composer and National Medal of Arts recipient Allen Toussaint to create A Night in New Orleans. The show received its first professional production in 2012 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center where it was offered free of charge to every 3rd grader in Newark. We also donated a copy of the MTH book on which the show is based, A Good Night for Ghosts, to every 3rd grader in Newark.

It’s JACKIE ROBINSON DAY!
In our newest Magic Tree House musical, audiences learn along with Jack and Annie why April 15, 1947 was such a special day; it was the day that Jackie Robinson took to the field with the Brooklyn Dodgers as the first black player to play Major League Baseball.

Jack and Annie learn a lot from meeting Jackie Robinson in Brooklyn including that when others are mean to you, you should hold your head high, respect yourself, and keep pursuing your goals!
