Dear Festival Family,

It’s time to share some sad news about the 2025 Four Corners Folk Festival, to be open about what’s happened, and to ask for your understanding and support as we move forward.

The Four Corners Folk Festival will be paused in 2025, as KSUT has suffered tremendous financial losses since acquiring the Four Corners Folk Festival and the Pagosa Folk ‘N Bluegrass Festival from FolkWest in October 2019.

Production costs for the festival skyrocketed after the COVID-19 pandemic. Costs included unexpected increases in insurance, equipment rental, lodging, catering, and more.

In this KSUT Conversation, Tami Graham speaks with Mark Stevens and Chuck Greaves, co-editors of the recently published “Four Corners Voices: Stories, Poetry, Essays.”

The book includes 24 poems, 13 essays, and 12 short stories, which were received after a community-wide call for submissions earlier in 2024.

Authors include established regional writers and scribes earning their first publication credit.

In a press release, Greaves (who edited the anthology's short stories) said the book is "a diverse compendium that reflects the beauty, captures the spirit, and embodies the essence of this unique and wonderful land... All the writing that appears in this anthology is either set in the Four Corners region or else springs from the imaginations of Four Corners writers."

In this KSUT Conversation, Tami Graham speaks with Mark Stevens and Chuck Greaves, two of the three editors of the recently published Four Corners Voices: Stories, Poetry, Essays.

Fans of public lands recently gathered in the San Juan National Forest near Mancos, Colo.

The event was billed as a response to a group called the Free Land Holders' attempt to lay claim to more than 1,000 acres of forest service land.

Clark Adomaitis reports for KSUT.

The December 15 event was billed as a peaceful response to a group called the Free Land Holders' attempt to lay claim to more than 1,000 acres of public land in the San Juan National Forest.

Eleven young people explored the connection to water for themselves, their communities, and their cultures.

KVNF Community Radio in Paonia recently interviewed the fellows to get their perspective on what water means to them.

For many people, especially Native Americans, water takes on a deeper meaning — to community, culture, and spirit.
