The Star Community Newspaper The Star strives to engage the community in respectful dialog on social, economic, political & cultural issues that affect our mountain.

Our goal is to inspire, uplift & support the individuals, groups and businesses that call the mountain home. Publisher and CEO, JoAnne (Monroe) Matthews has over 50 years in marketing business; 15 years in education, 20+ years in journalism and 13 years in ministry. She has spent a life-time encouraging others to discover their God-given gifts and to develop those gifts to succeed.

What a great idea....let's enhance Idyllwilds' greenery!

Idyllwild Library has partnered with Neighborhood Forest to provide free trees for kids to plant during Earth Week. Parents/guardians, sign up for a free tree by March 15! Sign up using this link: https://www.neighborhoodforest.org/parent-registration/?school=69018 . Trees are set to arrive in time for Earth Day 2024. Once the trees arrive at the library, we will notify you to come pick up your tree!
