For all practical purposes, its April Fools! But we're not gonna fool you here...
Right about 2009 or 2010, Smooth Jazz on terrestrial radio fell off of a cliff. Of course, other formats were profitable, and tastes changed, we understand that.
But recently at a gathering of the best in radio, the idea was pitched to bring back smooth jazz to the radio. We were initially excited and intrigued by the idea, but just the idea.
The idea went sideways from there. We still believe in the saxaphone, the trumpet, the sound that makes jazz what it is, nothing that country can do, nothing that pop or rock can do.
Some ideas can be pitched, but smooth jazz was also an idea, until it became a mainstay, and now stands the test of time...
