A few minutes ago, I sent my first, EVER, promotional email for Neil Gladd Publications (and have removed the 8 addresses that had permanent fatal errors.) If you did not receive it and would LIKE to to be on my list, please let me know! I publish primarily mandolin music, but there are also a few pieces for violin, keyboard, and some vocal music. I do not plan to send more than 2 or 3 emails per year, only when I have more than one new publication to announce.

I've been working on it for ages, and uploading/troubleshooting/correcting for HOURS, but the revised page for Neil Gladd Publications is UP! It's been reorganized in addition to adding so new stuff, so here's what is new:
3 new short pieces in digital editions. They had previously been on a third party site, but I decided to bring everything together in one place.
4 new FREE pieces by Silas Seth Weeks (1869-1953), the only Black mandolinist to be published and recorded during the mandolin's Golden Age, and the first American to write a Mandolin Concerto (coming next year).
I have always had some free pieces posted at the bottom of the page, but now they are also integrated into the rest of the catalog, so that you can find all of the mandolin solos, mandolin and guitar duets, etc. in the same place.
I will not be publishing any more print editions until next year, but I will be publishing two recordings and a digital edition of Six Duettos for 2 Violins, or 2 Mandolins, with optional Bass by Emanuele Barbella (1718-1777) this year. This had been published almost 40 years ago (OK, 39) by Plucked String Editions, but current printing costs would make it prohibitively expensive, so it will just be published as a pdf. The good news is that the price will be the same as it was in 1983!
I have added a violin section, as I now have 4 works for mandolin or violin!
My best-selling book, Four Centuries of Solo Mandolin Music was just reprinted, but as the printing costs have gone up 50% over the last 4 years (!!!) I had to raise the price.
I am not yet taking orders for recordings, but I have put the information online so you can see what the contents will be. Many more corrections to come, I'm sure, but give it a look!

I had not originally planned to announce this to the public, but if you have been considering buying my book, Four Centuries of Solo Mandolin Music, you may want to order it NOW. It's not that it is about to sell out, it had already sold out and is currently being reprinted. Since it was last printed 4 years ago, though, paper prices have gone up, and I have not updated my shipping charges for 10 years. When I set my international shipping charge for a flat $6.50 at that time, it was enough to cover anything I had then published, and if people ordered 2 or 3 pieces, I considered it as giving them a discount. At 152 pages, this book weighs more than every other piece I have published combined, and international shipping costs me more than $20 per book. If you order now, you can get it at the lower price, and I will send them out as soon as they get back from the printer (and it will help me pay the printing bill). Immediately AFTER I receive the new copies, I will have to raise both the price and the shipping charge. I do not plan to raise any of my other prices in the immediate future, as the other pieces were printed in larger quantities.

I have not been promoting my publications for a while, as during the first 3 months of the pandemic, I was not able to visit the post office to send orders. I can now make one trip a week on Saturdays, for any week that I have orders. I can now send any orders within the U.S., HOWEVER, the post office is not able to accept packages going to other countries. I believe that they CAN accept envelopes, for my thinner publications (most of them), but not my most popular publication, Four Centuries of Solo Mandolin Music.

I will have a vendor table at the CMSA Convention in Illinois next week, so you will have a chance to look over my available music. I have several more editions that I am working on, and would be interested in knowing what instrumentation people are most interested in. Solo mandolin, mandolin duets, mandolin and guitar, mandolin and piano, mandolin orchestra? I am working on all of the above, but have not decided which ones to print first.
