Award-winning illustrator and children’s book author Bob Staake takes us inside his Chatham work studio, where he’s created more than 70 children’s books as well as New Yorker Magazine covers, product and greeting card designs, cartoons and advertising illustrations for corporations ranging from American Express to Sony.
“Of all the artists I work with, Staake may well be one of the most prolific idea generators,” says Francoise Mouly, Staake’s editor at The New Yorker.

“I’m doing a lot,” says Arnold of her efforts to clean up local beaches, “but a small amount compared to what’s on Chatham beaches.”
While at Hardings Beach, Chatham one morning four years ago, Rebecca Arnold began picking up a few pieces of debris on the way to the lighthouse. Now she not only picks up trash, she creates poster boards displaying what she finds and works to spread awareness of a growing problem.
