I am very excited to share with you a new opportunity I have been involved in for the past several weeks. The Clayworks here in Hutchinson reached out to me back in June about collaborating on a special project between them and Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. I have been hired part-time by Clayworks to help teach some of the talented clients from Hutchinson and McPherson (12) paintings for the new Pediatrics wing that will be opening later this year.
I worked for several weeks in July to design and prototype 12 paintings with a woodland animal theme and I have been teaching with the clients for a few weeks now. This is a very exciting time to be involved with such a great organization and I am honored to have been asked to participate in such a special project as a local artist.
You will find me mornings Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday at the Clayworks! Our paintings are coming along wonderfully and they are on display for all visitors to watch the progression as we work toward finishing them. I look forward to sharing more with you on my page.

It has been a busy 1st quarter for new websites and redesigns! I am proud to share the new website for my friend Ashley with As Designed Co. This site is a pretty big undertaking as inventory for her new business is sorted, documented and photographed. So we will likely be plugging along with updates for several months, but we decided we needed to launch as-is so the ball could keep rolling with all the current info she has to offer.

The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce Civics Bee is one of many pilot National Civics Bee competitions promoted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. At least 1,000 local middle school students will participate in a first-round essay competition. Judges will select 20 to go to the final round: a live quiz event testing civics knowledge. Winners will be recognized in their communities and receive prizes.

How to Enter

Last night was nothing short of spectacular! It has been MONTHS in the making with endless planning meetings and coordination to pull off the very first "Light Up Hutch" parade. I am proud to have been a part of this endeavor! I was very impressed with our City of Hutchinson staff, Fire and Police and their involvement in making this a success safe event. They were 💯 all-in on this change to a night-time parade, and all the hard work paid off. The vibe last night was the Hallmark experience we imagined and more. We learned a lot, and we have a long list already of what we can do to improve and grow for next year! I truly hope everyone in Hutchinson enjoyed the holiday fun! Thank you to everyone in our Downtown that helped out yesterday and also a shout out to Sarah Diamond for working closely with me on all the details!!

Hutchinson is nearing the end of a planning process to create a Downtown Hutch Master Plan. As part of that process, the community is holding another in-person public open house where community members can view concepts for downtown and provide input on downtown’s future. Understanding the community’s desires for downtown is critical to this planning process.
