Join us this Thursday, November 11, for our speaker series, featuring Dr. Felix Tijerina!

Born and raised in Houston Texas, Felix received his BBA from Houston Baptist University as a double major in Business and Management.

After graduation, he joined a small startup in the oil and gas industry funded by some of the largest oilfield services and oil companies in the world. In his tenure from startup to exit, he learned the importance of a well-balanced organization, the critical nature of accurate and concise communication, and most importantly, the role of strong leader. From there, he participated in several other startups and revamps across industries verticals while working on his MBA from The University of Houston. Felix attributes his success to a strong work ethic instilled by his parents, and most graciously, to each of the mentors he has had along the way.

His personal journey, and a little bit of chance, led him to Serenity Light Recovery in 2016, six months before their doors opened. But this assignment was different. This organization was not selling widgets. It was not selling just a service. It was offering struggling addicts and alcoholics an opportunity to live a life filled with promise and redemption. Over the last five years, the team at Serenity Light Recovery has created an organization based on commitment, integrity, transparency, and compassion.

Join us this Thursday, October 14, for the second in our four-part speaker series, featuring Dr. Mia Long Anderson. Dr. Anderson is the associate Dean and Professor of Mass Communication in the College of Arts and Media at Sam Houston State University. In addition to earning a Doctorate in Communication and Information Sciences, Dr. Anderson has served in faculty and administrative roles in locations including Azusa Pacific University, University of Tampa and University of South Alabama. Throughout her career she has led in diversity initiatives to advance a sense of inclusion efforts in the College of Arts and Media. Among other key PR roles, she currently serves on the Board of Commissioners for Sport Management Accreditation leaning into her passion of sports education.

Join us Thursday for the 1st of our 4 part speaker series, featuring Emily Greer! Emily holds the position of Regional Leader at Quick Quack Carwash and will be discussing the qualities that make a great leader; in addition to a live Q&A.

Emily found her way to Quick Quack Car Wash in February 2021, thanks to the amazing Houston Quick Quack team. After graduating from Rice University, Emily discovered a fondness for working in a team environment and solving problems, leading to a steady career in retail management and human resources. Upon her 10 years in retail and fitness sector, the opportunity to work with a group of talented and driven individuals at Quick Quack was an offer that could not be ignored.
