My head is all over the place. These 2 pictures show how much can change in just a few hours. One minute she's having the best day and then suddenly the seizures strike and ruin it. Yesterday was the first day in 32 days Teagan didn't have rescue medication. We couldn't be sure if this was due to having general aesthetic the day before or just that she was getting better. Obviously we hoped for the latter. Today, Teagan had probably her best day. She went for a walk in her wheelchair around the hospital, ate a fair amount of her lunch and dinner and even took some steps supported by her dad!! We were so pleased. This could be it. This could be the first day of not needing rescue medication, then we can start thinking about getting home......
Then 7.30pm came. Teagan had a really aggressive seizure and then was stuck in a cluster for over an hour. She had two lots of rescue medication and thankfully they have calmed the seizures enough to let her get some sleep. She's still having snall ones but she's resting - which is the main thing πŸ’œ

I'm sorry for the lack of updates. I've been an emotional wreck the last couple of days. It's been such an emotional roller coaster I've kind of shut off to the world. Thursday was probably the best day we've had. Teagan was smiling, stimming, trying o get out the bed - just being 'typical' Teagan and I got so hopeful planning getting out of here. Then out of nowhere at 6pm she had a prolonged seizure needing rescue medication to break and then carried on clustering for the next couple of hours. She had 3 rescue medications in total and then her breathing suffered overnight. Today Teagan had a gastrostomy (peg). It wasn't planned, it was very last minute and there was a cancellation too. Doctors have spoken about this happening for years but I've always managed to avoid it. This hospital admission has proved how beneficial a peg will be for Teagan. When she is too sedated from rescue medication to eat or swallow she now won't miss out on calories or medicines. It's been a very draining couple of days and we're both exhausted. Thank you for the messages of love and support. They mean so much πŸ’œ
