This is just one of the tornado warnings currently in effect to our north. I know I mentioned earlier to stay weather alert, but I truly believe the worst of the weather will stay to our north. Earlier I was in Tullahoma (Coffee County), and it was POURING DOWN RAIN; so we may get some rain, the the severe weather/tornado threat will likely go off to our north (where the tornado watch is in effect).

..A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM CDT FOR SOUTHERN POSEY...WEST CENTRAL HENDERSON AND NORTHEASTERN UNION COUNTIES...
At 353 PM CDT, a large and extremely dangerous tornado was located over Uniontown, or 7 miles north of Morganfield, moving north at 30 mph.
This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!
HAZARD...Damaging tornado.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes, businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete destruction is possible.
The tornado will be near... Mount Vernon around 400 PM CDT.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
To repeat, a large, extremely dangerous and potentially deadly tornado is developing. To protect your life, TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.

There’s also no active tornado watches currently, but I’d stay weather alert in northeast Mississippi, Northwest Alabama, and even southern middle Tennessee. The current day one outlook from the SPC has the severe weather threat north of us today, I’d just err on the side of caution, as it won’t take much for these rain bands from Beryl to try to rotate.

At 1017 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Thrashers, or near Booneville, moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.
Locations impacted include... Corinth, Booneville, Burnsville, Glen, Thrashers, Leedy, Farmington, Rienzi, Strickland, Jobes, Walker Siding, Holts Spur, Altitude, and Hazard Switch.

Here is the radar for our coverage area on, Saturday, December 9th. As we've posted we're in for some rough weather. Try and avoid travel if possible, and have your plans prepared.
