Y’all, Downtown Huntington is on pretty much every social media platform in existence and the community that has built up is truly global. I spend most days talking with followers from all over the planet about issues relating to Marshall University and .

What I’m learning is that within the context of Greater Appalachia, we are a bit of an oasis here. Huntington is a remarkably accepting city. It is a wonderfully welcoming city to be gay, trans, or just miscellaneously weird (I say that with love). And from talking with the old timers I know, it’s always been that way.

The City of Huntington has its fair share of well-documented problems, but the size of our heart isn’t one of them. I am proud to call this city home.

At the old Funny Bone, we only played local music before shows and that meant we had like five CDs that we played on loop.

I can't really compute how much the scene has changed now that we have enough local bands to sustain live music five nights a week all summer long.

I have been asked since I launched this page why I didn't include "WV" in the name.

That is because our Huntington is THE City of Huntington--the only one in the world founded by Collis P. Huntington himself.

All the other Huntingtons can have a qualifier.
