TA Films presents an original content production "Dear Ryan" - a Head Up Eyes Forward documentary.

Landon and Ryan, brothers just three years apart in age, were inseparable for 24 years. Ryan lived an adventurous lifestyle, bound by a high-risk, high-reward philosophy, while Landon was trapped by depression and anxiety. Then tragedy struck, changing one’s perspective of the world around him forever. Through years of heartache, separation, and struggle in the aftermath, a simple painting shined light on a new mission and a desire to lead a life with his “head up and eyes forward.”

Meet Zach Streuber! Zach is the newest addition to our TA Films crew. Before joining our team, he was the Assistant Director of creative content at Iowa State. He joined our team at the start of the year and excels as a camera operator. He strives for excellence in all that he does and brings a fun and enthusiastic personality to the team. Outside of work, you might catch Zach hiking in the mountains while listening to one of his new favorite artists, Taylor Swift!

Meet Jason Vitaris! Jason has over 12 years of experience as a sound mixer, with a diverse resume that includes all-access sports production, interviews, commercial work, and TV shows. As a former college football athlete, Jason’s desire to work within a team makes him an invaluable asset to TA Films. Jason was a kicker on Appalachian State University’s football team for the biggest upset in college sports history - when the Mountaineers defeated No. 5 ranked Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor!

Denver Moyers appreciation post! Denver has had an incredible run at TA Films, starting as an intern in the summer of 2020 before becoming an invaluable member of our team. Denver grew into a seasoned sound mixer while he also assisted in the camera department. His cheerful demeanor, dedicated work ethic, and unselfish assistance made him a favorite crew member to everyone who knows him. He also has a decent sense of humor. Denver and his wife Camille will be starting a new chapter in their lives. We will miss them both tremendously and are proud to have been a part of the story. Meet Hannah Baxter! Hannah is one of our Producers and a go-to for clients and crews alike, helping to lead client relations and set our teams up for success. She works with each department to ensure the success of every shoot and the efficiency of day-to-day operations, as well as implementing new initiatives to drive organizational growth. Hannah is a reality TV enthusiast, whose favorite thing to do on the weekends is spend time with her 3-year-old daughter, Tallon!

Meet Nick Bertram! Nick has over 15 years of experience producing and directing commercial, branding, and promotional content. His work can be seen on Broadcast TV, the Internet, and even Times Square. From A-List athletes to celebrity chefs and country music stars, Nick's breadth of experience is an invaluable asset. He is also a lifelong multi-instrumentalist and enjoys writing and recording for his solo project Mount Minus as well as collaborating with other musicians and bands. Outside of work and music, he also enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids.

Meet Brian McLawhorn! Brian serves as Director of Original Content and is part of the TA Films production team. He operates predominantly in the documentary space, working with crew members and clients alike from pre-production through post, with special attention to the creative development and structure of original stories. Brian spent 20+ years as a sports journalist covering the likes of Duke basketball, Alabama football, and UNC athletics before making a career move into the world of film. When not at work, Brian enjoys chasing unique backpacking trails, climbing mountains, and watching Atlanta Braves baseball.

Meet Will Rooney! A part of the TA Films team for over 8 years, Will refines his craft in both left and right brain areas of production as Operations Manager and Creative Content Director. Will presides over the equipment room and manages weekly logistics for production crews. Will has also directed, produced, and written on various award-winning in-house projects, driven by his passion for bringing concepts to life on the screen. On the weekends, you may find him jogging to his favorite diner with his wonderful wife and their spoiled dog.

Meet Chandler Harkey! He is our Director of Location Sound, a technical wizard in the world of audio, and a founding member of TA Films. He thrives at finding unique solutions to capture pristine sound for any production. Chandler is a go-to sound mixer for NFL Films, where he has worked on the sidelines for the past 4 Super Bowls. Chandler often spends time with his family on the mountain bike trails or the ski slopes. After that, you just might find him at a local brewery.

Meet Tyler Adams! Tyler is a proud Appalachian State alum and while there he established much of their video department. Once Tyler left App State, he began working for NASCAR Media Group as a Cinematographer, Producer, and Editor. He learned from some of the best in the business and that eventually led him to create TA Films. Tyler continues to dedicate himself to directing and producing cinematic experiences while leading the TA Films team.

We are excited to announce that Head Up Eyes Forward has been selected for the Charlotte Film Festival, the Richmond International Film Festival, and the Alexandria Film Festival! We had the opportunity to create this documentary short with Landon and we are incredibly excited for you to hear the impactful story.

The Charlotte screening will be held at the Independent Picture House on Friday, September 29, during the 5 p.m. shorts block.
