Jack Cooper purchased the Standard in 1975, and was the Editor and staff leader until 2017. Jack sold the Humboldt Standard to local businessman George Marburger , the current owner. There were a series of owners/editors, each lasting a year or two after Monagon; Barber, Tracy, Marble, Shirley, Gird, Edwards and Hall. William C. Norton was next from 1908 until his death in 1929 (at age 59). His wi

fe, Sue M. Willis Norton, (publisher) and son, Harry K. Norton, (Business Manager) continued the Humboldt Standard until selling in 1936 to Ben Mitchell. After Mitchell was Wayne Friedley, Jack Cooper, and now George Marburger.
