Another video from mini. Apple sauce. You certainly don't need to cook them for 12 hours. We are because it will be bedtime when it come to smash them. We are just opting for a lower and slower method for time purposes. #homeschool #homestead #learning #apples
Kids should begin give oral report in first grade and so it regularly. Not only is it a good skill but it prepares them to just openly have a conversation with someone and builds their confidence. Emma spent all week preparing this presentation. Even though it was only a few minutes long she still now posses a skill many adults don't possess. Her next presentation will be in 3 weeks. She will share an apple recipe with everyone.
Come with us as we spend 90 minutes of our morning learning. We've recently switched to schooling 5 days a week because Emma was ready to learn more outside her standard math and reading. This week and next, we will learn about the Tundra. We are taking school on the road this week as well. It's a busy week! #homeschool #tundra #learning
Can you look at your significant other and answer the question, "Can I be loved like this forever?" Jordan and I have been together a decade and married for 9. We have weathered many storms together, and I am more in love with him today than I was when we said "I do." We have both grown as people, as partners, as parents, and we did it together. We will never see eye to eye on everything, but we will fight everything together. Can you be loved like this forever? Marriage, just like parenting, is not one-sided. If your needs in your relationship are not being met, then talk about it. Communication should be easy, maybe a little uncomfortable sometimes when he asks what I ordered from Amazon this week, but you should never feel scared to communicate with your partner.
I came across this video while compiling videos for a different topic. I had no idea this was on my phone. 5 minutes of pure imagination, unprompted, uninterrupted. Kids can be left to their own devices, and they will be fine.
Follow up thought for your child safety.
You can never be over prepared in today's world. Here is what I do to keep me and mine safe.
A lot of rashes can be healed with natural remedies. Our go to is oatmeal baths. Oatmeal will soothe itch and pain, can protect the skin from further spread, and cleanse. There is nothing fancy to it. Put about a cup and a half of oats in a sock and toss it into a warm bath. Make sure the bath is not hot if you have a rash. I always run a oatmeal bath warm maybe even a little on the cooler side, this also helps with rash irritation.
I like to get every last use of everything. This trick is awesome for dipping bread or cheese or using for cooking!
Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with pie filling of your choosing. Bake, icing, enjoy!
Garlic harvest is here. I started by pulling out all my cloves. Ideally the soil should be dry which would make for knock the dirt off of each clove easy. However, we've received a lot of rain in northwest Iowa this year. I didn't want my garlic cracking in the soil, so I pulled it while the dirt was still wet. Because it was wet it didn't just knock off easily, which is why I rinsed it with the hose. I know some people will see this as a big no no, but I have read about others doing it and it turns out just fine. After I rinsed the garlic outside I let it sun dry for a couple of hours. I then trimmed the roots off and hung it on our new curing station. Where it will cure until it becomes papery!
Watch a 10 minutes process in 60 seconds! We were finally able to get a day time video of one of our painted lady butterflies hatching.
