Happy World Environment Day! Keep Mother Earth clean and happy and she will continue to take care of us. We are a part of her, and she is a part of us. Do your part each day by recycling, composting food scraps and yard trash, reducing waste and cleaning up litter. Maybe plan a clean up day in your neighborhood or local beach.

💥 Hurricane season reminder 💥

If at any time there is a
VOLUNTARY EVACUATION in place for our area, all animals boarding with us at that time MUST be picked up by their owner or local emergency contact (the pet parent is NOT the emergency contact).

If a voluntary evacuation is in place, any future reservations will be wait listed or canceled (without penalty) until the evacuation order is lifted.

Before you book a boarding reservation, be sure your local emergency contact is able and willing to pick up your animal in case of any kind of emergency including a hurricane evacuation. No animals we be permitted to stay if a voluntary evacuation is issued.

At your next boarding drop off or pick up, please let us know if your emergency contact is up to date.

Thank you and everyone stay safe this season!

Check out the difference in length with this dog’s nails! This was just one trim!

Unfortunately, most groomers and vet staff are unaware of the podiatry technique Stacy used to regress the “quick” or live part of the nail. This same technique allows her to take much more of the nail off with each trim helping the dog to stand in better joint alignment and proper posture. This can help alleviate arthritis pain and chronic stress in the body.

Stacy offers Holistic Nail Care appointments on Tuesdays AND for Dr. Ruff’s chiropractic patients on our Chiropractor Days!

The next Chiropractor Day is Saturday, May 7th. Contact Dr. Ruff to book an appointment for you fur baby and for yourself!

Tuesday appointments can be requested through the customer portal or by contacting us directly. Book your appointment soon, because Stacy’s time slots fill up fast!

Dr. Ruff will be back Saturday, May 7th! Contact her to book an appointment for yourself and/or your animal. Adjustments are crucial for the body to function at its optimal level. The nervous system governs all other systems. Not to mention, adjustments help alleviate joint pain.

You can book an adjustment for your boarding animals who will be staying with us while she is here as well. Simply request this service at drop off.

A referral form from your vet is required for new animal patients. Humans seeing Dr. Ruff do not need a referral.

Our Team

-Owner Stacy Jessen started Meow, Bark and Board in 2008 after graduating Cum Laude with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology and working in a vet clinic for over six years. Since then she has continued to expand her knowledge in the pet care industry by becoming a Reiki Master Teacher focusing on anxiety management and holistic health for pets and their people, obtaining her certification in Canine Therapeutic Massage and Equine Sports Massage Therapy, and her Pet Care Provider Certification through the International Boarding and Pet Services Association. She will soon complete the certification as a Pet Tech Instructor of CPR and First Aid and as a Raw Dog Food Nutrition Specialist. Stacy has created a business model that caters to special needs pets as well as all animals in need of a safe and anxiety conscientious facility run by compassionate, experienced staff members that are eager to further their own education in order to provide the best care possible for our clients’ pets!

-Office Manager Janie Jessen (Stacy’s sister) obtained her Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Finance from Limestone College, worked in banking for over five years and other customer service positions for over 10 years, she decided to join the family business at Meow, Bark and Board in 2014. Janie is now a Certified Pet Care Specialist through the IBPSA and is in the process of obtaining a Raw Dog Food Nutrition Certification through DNM University as well. She has two dogs of her own and understands the value of quality pet care.

"Caring for our clients' furry family members is very rewarding and the best career change that I could have made!" -Janie

-Kennel Manager Becky Fort moved to the Lowcountry in 2004 from "the great state of Minnesota" where she attended the University of Minnesota, Mankota. Moving here not only helped her escape the frigid midwest winters, but, more importantly, it allowed her to being her career in the pet care industry. She has been working in this industry since 2005 and now cannot imagine doing anything else. Beck joined our team in December 2017, and we could not be more thrilled to have her!
