PASCO FIREFIGHTER ARRESTED: A Pasco County firefighter has been arrested on charges of possession of child po*******hy following an investigation by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office. Tyler John Holton, 30, of Spring Hill, was taken into custody on March 6, 2025, after a search warrant was executed at his residence.

According to the Hernando County Sheriff’s office, the investigation began on December 28, 2024, when detectives received information regarding the possession of child po*******hy. Subsequent investigation identified Holton as a suspect.

On March 6, 2025, detectives obtained a court-authorized search warrant for Holton’s Spring Hill residence. The Hernando County Sheriff's Office Special Victim's Unit executed the warrant and made contact with Holton.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Holton denied knowledge or ownership of an account containing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). However, a search of his phone at the scene revealed the suspect account.

Holton, who is employed as a firefighter in Pasco County, was arrested and charged with:

Possession of Child Po*******hy
Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device
He is being held without bond.

"Sheriff Al Nienhuis has a zero tolerance for possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material," stated the Hernando County Sheriff's Office in a press release. "Any and all tips are, and will be, meticulously investigated, no stone will be left unturned. Any person who possesses material of this nature will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Thanks to strong collaboration between the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office , and Hernando County Sheriff's Office, a large-scale theft operation has been uncovered in Crystal River.

Yesterday, deputies with CCSO recovered multiple stolen vehicles, including side-by-sides, motorcycles, a Kubota mini excavator, a boat, and an enclosed trailer filled with stolen tools. Some items had been repainted or had altered VINs in an attempt to disguise them. The suspect, 34-year-old Thomas Tyrrel, was identified after investigators spoke with a witness who confirmed his involvement from surveillance footage. Tyrrel was detained on scene as detectives worked to recover and return stolen property to the rightful owners.

OVERNIGHT FATAL CRASH: A 25-year-old Spring Hill man died late Tuesday night after a high-speed crash on Mariner Boulevard, following a pursuit that originated in Pasco County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the incident occurred at approximately 11:32 PM on February 26, 2025. The man was driving a Dodge Charger northbound on Mariner Boulevard, reportedly fleeing from Pasco County Sheriff’s Deputies. He was observed driving at a high rate of speed and making multiple lane changes.

Ahead of him, also traveling northbound on Mariner Boulevard, was a Ford Mustang driven by a 48-year-old Spring Hill woman. As the Charger attempted to overtake the Mustang, the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a curb near Lindsay Drive. This caused the Charger to be redirected into the travel lane, where it then struck the rear of the Mustang. The impact caused the Mustang to rotate and come to a final rest along the southbound shoulder of the roadway.

The Charger continued to rotate northward, ultimately colliding with a concrete retaining wall at the entrance to Seven Hills Plaza. The driver, who was unrestrained, was ejected from the vehicle.

The 25-year-old man was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The 48-year-old woman driving the Mustang sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also transported to an area hospital.

The crash resulted in the closure of Mariner Boulevard for several hours, reopening at approximately 5:00 AM.

The FHP is continuing to investigate the incident. The Pasco County Sheriffs office is also involved in the investigation due to the preceeding pursuit.

Pasco News reached out to the Pasco Sheriff’s office and they stated “The vehicle was being searched for as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation and twice fled from Pasco Sheriff’s deputies. At the time of the crash, Pasco Sheriff’s deputies were not in active pursuit and the vehicle was being monitored by aviation assets”.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office has an increased law enforcement presence at the intersection of Suncoast Parkway and Cortez Boulevard. Deputies are currently on the scene of a traffic stop.

FATAL FIRE: Emergency Crews are on the scene of a mobile home fire on 15000 block of Shady Street in Brooksville.

The HCSO is currently working a death investigation as a result of the fire.

The state Fire Marshal is in route to assist with the investigation.

On February 1, 2025, the pictured male and female suspects are believed to have used the elderly victim's debit card multiple times in Pasco and Hernando Counties.
