I, too, have a photo of the from the first time I visited - on my college tour in 2009. No surprise our master photographer Ken Bovat's is better, though.

Today I photographed this, the 'Million Dollar Staircase" at the Capital. The craftsmanship is outstanding.

Look, we get it. If you live somewhere long enough, your paint job may suffer — but if you’re selling a house, it’s time to “brush up” your interior — & there’s no one better to do it than our Expert in Painting!

Many people talk about the onslaught of winter in , dreading , forecasts & bitter — but it’s you’ve really gotta watch out for. I try to take a picture of the First Reformed Church in in every season, to remind myself that sun, it is a-comin’.

Throwback to warmer times (climes?) reading ‘s 50th Annual Impact Report in chlorophylled full-color on my back porch. I realize I am saying this to you from a screen, but Indigo Ocean’s comment that “Screens provide abstract experiences, but we are not abstract beings, we are physical beings” hammers home for maintaining an awareness that actions have consequences. The awareness conveyed by experiencing the interaction between humans & nature can’t be limited to those who seek it out.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s… Marylou Knull, Arbonne Independent Consultant: our sponsor & one of the wonderful witches of Witches Along The Hudson, on a nefarious mission to give back to the community (AGAIN?!?)!

On the anniversary of our February '24 issue featuring the Chatham Fire Department, and in the wake of the devastating fires in Los Angeles last month, this simple fire safety message rings loud & clear: Prevention is better than cure. A key component of prevention is education -- & we're lucky enough to have the world's largest museum of firefighting & purveyor of fire education right in our backyard! The Publisher of your neighborhood magazine is willing to walk her talk right down the runway to raise money for FASNY Museum of Firefighting's children's education programs at the Hearts on Fire Fashion Show on Friday, February 7th -- will you be there to show your support? Visit https://fasnyfiremuseum.com/product/sierra-shepard-hearts-on-fire-2025/ to purchase tickets now!
Can't be there in person? Use the same link above to make a donation of any amount to secure the future of the most comprehensive museum dedicated to the history, culture and science of firefighting.
(PS: A big thank you to McCagg Excavating for sponsoring their local magazine; helping spread the word about great causes in the community!)

Can you believe Scrappy hasn't had a meet and greet all month?! 😟

He's January's Dog of the Month, and there's only a week left of his free adoption fee. Scrappy has been with us for 9 months, and we are shocked he hasn't been scooped up yet! 🤯

We're open Monday-Saturday from 11:30-4. Stop in today and meet Scrappy! 🥰
