The hauntingly beautiful work of Gyorgi Legeti makes use of compositional techniques such as microtonality, polytonality and polyrythms while also exploring the range of timbres available on instruments.

Setting up to record video during a recording session can be tricky, especially when you're a one person show as I am in this case. I've worked out the lighting. I'm trying this 50 mm lens and hoping the out of focus look on the keys with an in-focus hand will look good.

Probably going to do the actual session work tomorrow. The video is intended t odocument the music production proces and be a path to fun and creative learning about music production for fledgling producers. "David Peterson Harvey's Strange World" is the intended destination for the video content as we continue our mission to educate while producing original music in original ways.

We plan to be at the learning center briefly Friday andSaturdayevenings. People are picking up the furniture and we have a few, small items left to move.

So many good memories here and we will miss it terribly when we close this location at month's end. Still, the adventure continues and so does the love for all those whose lives we touched.

This isn't the end of the business, just a shifting of our priorities and educational focus. We are still here for you, now more than ever before, just in a slightly different capacity.

Before we close our doors completely in west Houston, we have a couple of deals for you. We have a couple of good, gently used music stands for $25 each. We have a few of the Crestwood guitars for $100 each. We have one acoustic piano left for $450 with a wooden bench.

Give us a shout if you are interested.

These little, Lucida guitars have been great for our young students. This is probably the last batch we will ever have in stock. I've been checking out this little, half-size guitar today. It's great for young children or as a travel guitar. It's the only one I have. Call and I'll make you a good deal on it.

"Take This Power," the 8th track on the "Ministry" album, had an Easter egg that we had to split into two separate tracks on the digital version of the album for resale. Here is Track 8 in its original format, with "Take My Heart Away" immediately following a short silence.

In "Take This Power," you can hear Margaret's voice in a haunting doubling of a flute line played on a sampler. This was not planned. During a listening session after I recorded the vocal, Margaret started singing along with the flute. The engineer and I looked at each other, then looked at Margaret. He said, "Yes, let's do it."

In "Take My Heart Away," Margaret does the main singing while I join for backup and take the title line at the end of the song while she finished out. Mine is a role taken by a lot of female background singers in the '70s and '80s, restating a emoting the lead singer's performance with an emotional rendition at the end. There may be a name for this device but I'm not aware of it.

I believe this is the only time to date we used an Easter egg and the only time we used that particular type of vocal ending on a song. Friends who know our catalog may correct me on this. ;-)

Trying to get the "Ministry" album re-released as digital media, I ran into a problem. Track 8, "Take This Power," wouldn't upload because of the size. I had relegated myself to forgetting it but just discovered why. We had a bonus track hidden within Track 8, "Take My Heart Away," a song I had completely forgotten was included as an Easter egg on the album. Robert Peterson, being the good father to Margaret Peterson Harvey that he is. should greatly enjoy hearing this.

The album is now fully available for listening and purchase as individual tracks and as a full album. Enjoy!

One of my favorite songs we ever recorded was written by Jadan J Oliver. We were producing the song for him but his vocals didn't work on it. We tried mine and they ddn't sound good, either. Margaret Peterson Harvey came home for lunch (the recording studio was in our townhouse) and we asked her to learn and sing the song really quickly. On a one hour lunch break, she sang three takes. After she left, we discovered her takes layered really well over each other, as she was a really consistent singer, and they sounded great.

Jadan and I produced the song together, he played those soulful keyboards and I, of course, did the guitar work. Margaret, who usually preferred to remain out of the limelight, gave a beautiful performance in this song from around 2004.

We did an album called "Ministry" years ago as Musical Power House and have just released all but one of the songs publicly for the first time in twenty years. You can listen to it and even buy the album or songs on ReverbNation if you like the music and want to show your support.

Peace.
