Hope you made it to the UH Hispanic Alumni Scholarship Workshop! If not, no worries, you can still apply for a scholarship through April 15th!

The Hispanic Alumni Scholarship is for students (or incoming students) of Hispanic Heritage enrolled at the University of Houston main campus in the 2025-2026 academic year.

- Complete online application
- No minimum GPA requirement
- Undergraduates must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours
- Graduates must be enrolled for a minimum of 9 credit hours
- DACA, Undocumented, & International students are eligible to apply!
- Students must be in good academic standing
- Two short essays are required: In one page, please detail your academic and career goals, and explain how receiving the UH Hispanic Alumni Association Scholarship will support your journey. Also, how do you envision making a meaningful contribution to the Hispanic community in the future?

Second, Describe a specific piece of advice or a lesson that you learned that has significantly influenced your academic and/or professional aspirations, whether it was a positive encouragement or a challenge you had to overcome. How has this guidance shaped your goals and motivated you to succeed?

Latino/Latina/Latinx/Latine Artists - however you identify! (Don't fight us) ALMAAHH Texas and The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston have an open call for proposals now through August 5th!

They're going to commission 6 artists again this year to create huge temporary sculptures for the Fall Festival ($5,000)!

Flashback to the TechCrunch Disrupt Conference where we sat front row for the “Lights, Camera, Algorithm! Where AI Fits into Movies, Games, and Creativity” panel to catch Tye Sheridan, Co-Founder and President, of Wonder Dynamics AI.

You might know Ty best from his starring role as Wade Watts in the movie Ready Player One, or for his role as the young Cyclops in the reboot X-Men film series. But Ty has been busy off set too, creating an AI tool with his Co-Founder, Nikola Todorovic, that automatically animates, lights, and composes CG characters into live-action scenes.
