Taken from Patricia Olivares( I completely agree with her, the City, HISD and the Railroad Authority):

I've read some post where people want to criminalize the assistant principal or even blame the school attendance policy. ok, let's say we go with your plan. Then what? what happens with the trains? they are still there, they are still the problem.

If you really want to do something about the trains you should contact the people that can actually do something about.

BREAKING NEWS: Former Houston Rockets Player James Hardens restaurant "Thirteen" is being sued by the family of Taylar Jackson, who was 1 of 8 victims killed/ injured in a crash that happened on November 11, 2023 around 2am at the intersection of Pierce and Fannin (downtown Houston). Taylar was rushed to an area hospital where he remained until succumbing to his injuries April 29, 2024.

The person said by the Harris County District Attorney Office responsible for the crash is Christian Daniel Herrera (deceased) where it is said that he was overserved alcoholic beverages at Thirteen on the night of November 10, 2023 leading into the early hours of November 11, 2023. Court documented state that Herreras blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.139 which is well over the states legal limit. It states that Herrera was extremely past the point where he was an obvious danger to himself and the public. The documents also state that staff at Thirteen weren't properly trained and that Thirteen had nothing in place to track customers' alcohol consumption.

Also killed in the wreck were Frank Johnson 31, Lauren Robinson Holliday 32, Former U of H football players D.J. Hayden(played 8yrs in the NFL), Ralph Oragwu, and Zachary McMillan. Lastly, also a 32 yr old man(who's not named) was the only survivor of the crash.

This is yet another sad reminder to not drink and drive, but also a warning to restaurants, bars, and clubs that they can and will also be held responsible for not only safely serving alcohol, but also failing to properly train their staff in doing so. This was a tragic incident that took the lives of 7 people and severely injured 1.

Sergio Rodriguez is the 15 yr old young student killed this morning trying to cross to a railroad in Southeast Houston. Sergio was a football player and an excellent student at Milby High School. The community is outraged at the lack of safe routes for students to take to get to and from schools in the area. Prayers for this young man and all of his classmates, friends, and loved ones. This is so sad, he was just trying to get to school.

This is not safe for the students! Why is there no bridge for them to cross?

Investigators are on the scene of a fatal crash involving a train and a pedestrian at the 2000 block of Broadway St. near Galveston Rd. at about 7:35 AM today. The pedestrian, a student from Milby High School, has been pronounced deceased.

I received the image below of students on Broadway at Galveston crossing the train so they can get to school. The students should not have to resort to this. Why is there no bridge?

NEW: We just received the mugshot for David Estrada, the used car salesman who assaulted KPRC2 / Click2Houston Photojournalist Oscar Chavez and me.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.

But let me tell you - this is just the beginning. Big investigation today on KPRC 2.

“GAS CAN MAN”: We just received video of Luz Alfred Garcia, also known as ‘Gas Can Man’, getting aggressive and spitting on an individuals window as she records her interaction with the male. Garcia is known for getting aggressive with drivers who refuse to give him money. In another video, which will be posted later on this post, shows him hitching a ride on the back of a minivan a couple months ago.

Last year in the month of May, Garcia was arrested by Harris County Constable Precinct 8 and charged with Assault on a Peace Officer (Felony) and Resisting Arrest (Misdemeanor) by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

The individual who sent this video stated she called the cops on him and another individual stated they saw him communicating with him on the side of the road.

If you see this individual anywhere in Houston, do not approach him nor give him money. If you don’t know him already, he’s another scammer who takes advantage of individuals. Women, please be careful around him because he doesn’t care about you being female as he will still get aggressive with you.

What started HTX Breaking News?

Before HTX Breaking News was called ‘HTX Breaking News’, it was originally called ‘East Houston Breaking News. We orignally created this page for the East Houston area, until we got many requests to cover the entire Houston area. After creating other pages for the different sides of Houston, we then got one request to cover the entire Harris County area and some surrounding counties. Long story short, HTX Breaking News was created. HTX Breaking News originally stands for (Houston, Texas Breaking News) but, we prefer for it to stand for (Harris Texas Breaking News).

I am Brandon, the creator and editor of HTX Breaking News. I love doing things for my community, Denver Harbor, but I also love doing things for my WHOLE community, Houston, Texas. My wish, and goal, is to get as many visitors to the entire Harris County as possible. I hope to start live streaming HTX Breaking News soon.

I love photography, it is one of my main hobbies. I might be starting on an iPhone but you will soon, hopefully, see my work on your television. I plan on becoming a photographer, or a reporter, for my local news stations, KTRK (ABC13), KRIV(FOX26), KHOU(11), or KPRC(2). I do not get paid doing this but I do hope to start soon. I would love to get a camera/camcorder and computer to do some editing. Journalism may sound like an easy job but it really takes a lot of time and energy. I rely on other news stations, law enforcement agencies, and my community to give me information and photos of scenes/events. I do enjoy doing this though. I love meeting new people too and I am hoping to meet you one day.

Lastly, and most importantly, I would like to thank all of my supporters for helping my dream come true as a journalist and photographer. THANK YOU ALL!
