Collins has been the Texans’ (2-0) top receiver in their first two games of the season. He went for 135 yards and a touchdown on eight catches in their 19-13 win Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
Texans running backs Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce did not practice Wednesday due to injuries.
Mixon is dealing with an ankle injury and Pierce is still recovering from a hamstring injury. If the Texans have to play without them, it puts the spotlight on Cam Akers.
Texans backup tight end Brevin Jordan will miss at least the next four games after being placed on the injured reserve list.
Jordan, who is in his fourth season, was listed on the injured-reserve at Wednesday’s practice. The injury itself was not immediately clear, but the designation means he will miss a minimum of four games.
The Minnesota Vikings are the Texans' biggest test so far.

Despite the offense stagnating in the second half, the Houston Texans beat the Chicago Bears 19-13 on Sunday night to improve to 2-0.
With the win, Houston improves to 2-0 as one of five AFC teams remaining undefeated after two weeks of action. Every other team in the Texans’ division is 0-2.

The Houston Texans placed backup cornerback Jeff Okudah on injured reserve to a hip injury reaggravated in Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts.
It means Okudah will miss at least the next four games. The Texans signed cornerbacks Desmond King and Troy Pride to their practice squad. They elevated Rashad Weaver from the practice squad to the active roster.
Joe Mixon tied a career high with 30 rushing attempts in his first contest as a Texan, tallying an NFL-best 159 rushing yards while finding the end zone once.
In his Texans debut, Mixon slashed through the Colts’ defense en route to totaling 178 scrimmage yards, the highest total in the NFL in Week 1.
