The spooky decorations once stood on Evergreen Street at Houghton Lake, but Jennifer Guzman and Brad Daneluk moved to Roberts Road in August.

“We keep our 12-foot skeletons up all year round and they became kind of like known on 55. So, when we moved, a lot of people kinda freaked out,” Guzman said of the skeletons that used to be on display near M-55 and Reserve Road.

SPOOKY DECORATIONSDecorations adorn the front yard of Jennifer Guzman and Brad Daneluk’s house on Roberts Road, Houghton Lake, as they prepare for Halloween. “It takes us about four days to get our large decorations out, then we just keep putting little things out for the next few weeks,” said...

Xandra Weaver said she has been an artist her whole life and she always liked “odd, witchy things,” so why not combine the two and create a business?

Weaver, of Belleville, recently attended Witches Weekend at Houghton Lake, with her business Iridescent Artistry.

She started her business four years ago and her artwork is a mix of needle felting, bones, clay, plants and yarn.

BONE ARTXandra Weaver lined up her artwork on a patch of green yarn to look like moss during Witches Weekend at the Houghton Lake Historical Playhouse Oct. 10.
