Sooooo while doing roller skating parts research I ran across these below. How did not know about the special rubber wheels for office chairs? Oh and they are just like roller blade wheels🤯 My office chair glides on the floor like it’s on a cloud! I’m getting rid of that annoying clear mat today! Best Amazon find EVER! Very sad to hear the news of Milton’s passing. This man was truly a public servant and had a giving heart. Milton was a big help on my rinks project for our Storm Water plans. I’m very grateful for everything he did to assist us with this project. We are all praying for his family and friends during this difficult time.

We are saddened to report that Arkansas native and Hot Springs resident, Milton Raabe suddenly passed on Sept 6, 2024. In August 1972, Raabe began his career at the City of Hot Springs as the City Engineer, and by his retirement in September 2002, his position was reclassified to Utility Engineering Manager.

During his time with the City, one of the big projects that Raabe helped oversee was the construction and design of a regional sewage treatment plant, known as the Davidson Wastewater Treatment Plant. At that time, the plant was featured as the largest, advanced sewage treatment plant in the state. According to the state Pollution Control and Ecology Department, “the plant was one of the first to achieve the ‘advanced’ status.”

The Hot Springs Homebuilders Association (HSHBA) even passed a resolution for him praising his work and dedication to updating the Hot Springs Sewer Department. HSHBA President Bob Lambert stated in the resolution, “Milton Raabe has a vast amount of knowledge about the Hot Springs Sewer System which no company, group of men, consultants or commission can replace.”

After he retired from the City, he was still extremely active at City Hall because he provided engineering services for many water and wastewater projects within Hot Springs and Garland County.

When Raabe was not working on utility projects, he could be found doing mission work with his church family, across the globe, or simply across the street.

One of his favorite pastimes was playing softball. Over the years, he managed Kimery Park’s senior softball league and put in countless volunteer hours at the park for various projects and field upkeep.

Our staff members remember him as a quiet and kind man who was more than willing to help anyone in need.

Staff, who worked with him after his retirement, stated that “he was a real gentleman, who was good to work with and always tried to find the best solutions for the homeowners he consulted with.”

He was truly a public and private servant and will be missed by all who knew him.
