𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐋𝐋 𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐒 𝟒𝐓𝐇 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓! The Hornell Red Raiders played an afternoon game at Alfred University where they defeated the Haverling Rams 66-40 on the college court. Hornell led 36-18 at the half, but the Rams came out strong in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Red Raiders 16-10. Hornell answered with 20 points in the 4th quarter, 12 points coming from senior, 𝐏𝐉 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐜𝐨. PJ led all scorers with 27 points followed by Hornell's 𝐖𝐲𝐚𝐭𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐦 with 16 points. The girl's 4x200 relay team (𝐄𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞, 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧, 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐨) took first place, re-breaking their own school record (1:51.11). Ella went on to place second in the 55 (7.71), and Delainey won the 300 with a time of 44.64. Other top ten finishes were recorded by 𝐁𝐫𝐲𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐧, 2nd in the 1000 (3:20.08), and 1st in the 1500 (5:27.99), 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐧, 2nd in the 1500 (5:31.98), and 8th in the 1000 (3:40.50), and 𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐊𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐤 10th in the 55 (8.33). Maura also had a personal best in the 300 (50.75), Other ladies that recorded personal bests were 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲, 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲, 𝐌𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐚, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐰𝐚 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐦. 𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐒 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐕𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄: The Hornell Lady Raiders defeated the Dansville Lady Mustangs by 29 points 69-40 at Hornell. Hornell improves to 8-1 and Dansville drops to 7-3. Hornell's 𝐉𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐲𝐧 𝐃𝐲𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 led Hornell with 23 points, 19 of them in the 1st half. She had 5 3 pointers, 4 rebounds and 4 steals. 𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐲 and 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐨 had 12 points each. The Red Raiders led throughout the highly intense and physical game, however the visiting Golden Gophers got within 6 points with just over 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter before the Red Raiders went on 12 - 3 run to close out the game. Hornell senior, 𝐏𝐉 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐜𝐨 led all scorers with 21 points followed by 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐜𝐨 with 12, 𝐖𝐲𝐚𝐭𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐦 with 11 and 𝐀𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐜𝐈𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 with 9. The Red Raiders tallied 10 3s on the night. 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐧𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐱𝐨𝐧 added 14 points, and 𝐖𝐲𝐚𝐭𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐦 contributed 10. 𝐀𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐜𝐈𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 had 7 points and 9 rebounds. Rochester is Class A and defeated Hornell in December by 21, 40-61. Hornell's 𝐉𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐲𝐧 𝐃𝐲𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 had a game high 19 points,, 4 assists and 3 rebounds. 𝐉𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐲𝐧 𝐃𝐲𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 was also named LCAA player of the week. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐨 had 12 points, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks.
