On November 2nd, the Finest Feathers Fashion Show x Battle of the BeadsContest will take place on the Hopland Reservation from 3PM-8PM.

A unique gathering that celebrates the beauty, talent, and resilience of Indigenous artists and designers from across Indian Country. This event offers more than just fashion; it's a heartfelt expression of culture, pride, and community. With live music, a vibrant marketplace, pow wow dancers, and a beadwork contest, it’s a chance to witness the creativity and craftsmanship that tell the stories of our people.

We invite you to be part of this meaningful experience, where Indigenous voices are celebrated and communities come together. Thank you everyone for your continued support.

🌟 Spotlight on Designer Dez Adams – Founder of Native Land 🌟

From Gallup, New Mexico to the Bay Area, Dez Adams has traveled a powerful journey of rediscovery, strength, and creativity. As the visionary behind Native Land, Dez is dedicated to providing a space for inclusivity and empowerment for all walks of life through the art of fashion. 👗✨

After becoming a full-time mom for ten years, Dez felt she lost touch with her identity as a Native woman. But her work with NAHC in San Francisco, where she taught beading and ribbon skirt sewing classes for Standing Rock and did outreach for Native youth, reignited her connection to her heritage. At 27, Dez embraced her role as a proud Navajo Cali woman, and through her love for her community, she started selling beaded jewelry and, eventually, her clothing line at Native events.

Native Land is more than a brand—it’s a movement that challenges the division often seen in modern society. Dez’s mission is to foster unity and respect for all backgrounds through her designs, reminding us that fashion can be a tool for cultural expression and inclusivity. 💫👟

Introducing the multifaceted Hop Norris, also known as Ab Daddy, hailing from the village of Hoppow in Yurok Country. Hop embodies the heart of his culture, serving as a Yurok Culture Bearer, Culture Consultant, First Salmon Ceremony Holder, Fisherman, and Yurok Canoe Captain. 🛶🔥

With a deep passion for Fine Art, Hop’s skills span across drawing, painting, and creating ceremonial regalia, traditional drums, jewelry, and working with abalone and wood. His artistry and craftsmanship reflect his dedication to preserving and advancing Indigenous culture through powerful, authentic expression. 🖌️🎨

As a full-time professional artist and water warrior, Hop’s talents extend to clothing graphic design. Beyond his artistic mastery, he’s a proud husband and father, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to family and community. His journey as a creator and cultural leader makes him a true pillar of Indigenous excellence.

Angelica is a traditional dancer, cultural sharer, and a passionate leader who has dedicated herself to bridging the gap within her community by teaching sewing classes over the years. Her commitment to making these skills more accessible has had a profound impact on those she reaches, empowering individuals to connect with their roots and creativity. 👗✂️

As a mother of four and a community pillar, Angelica is always the first to lend a hand, leading with humility and grace. Since her modeling debut in 2019, working with the renowned Shane Balkowitsch, Otakwan has amassed over 80 modeling credits and been featured in multiple magazines. Her influence reaches even further, as she has secured a place in five prestigious museum permanent collections, representing the strength and beauty of the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan. 🏆✨
