THE HOPKINSVILLE CHRISTIAN COUNTY NAACP ANNOUNCES MLK CELEBRATION 2017

On Sunday January 15th at 2:30 p.m. Rev. C.E. Timberlake will be the keynote speaker at Virginia Street Baptist Church Located at 210 South Virginia Street, Hopkinsville KY. Rev Timberlake is the Pastor of First Street Baptist Church. The Santuary Choir of First Street Baptist Church will provide the music.The Host Pastor is Dr. Rev. M.O. Fort. A Re-past will be served immediately following services. The Re-past is sponsored by The Pioneers Incorporated.

On Monday January 16th at 9:45 a.m. the School Challenge Registration will begin at 9:45 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club located at 1600 South Walnut Street. Tom Bell/State Farm Insurance Company will be recording data and awarding the winner during the program. The Winner will receive the traveling trophy and a skating party. The youth are encourage to wear their school colors, bring banner, posters and any paraphernalia which represents their school and/or Dr. King. Also the Day Care Challenge winner will be awarded that day. The Day Care Center with the most Marchers will Receive a Pizza Party. The Oldest, Youngest Marcher and the Marcher travelling the farthest will receive a gift card and the sponsor is "In the Gap Ministries. Remember the Monday March is a Youth Fest and Celebration! If you cannot complete the March transportation will be provided by Rev. C.R. Miller and Moore's Baptist Church Van.

The March will conclude at First Street Baptist Church at 812 Moayon Street, Hopkinsville KY. Rev. C.E. Timberlake is the host Pastor. Hopkinsville Native Rev. Darvin Adams will be the Keynote Speaker. Rev. Adams' family ties are with the local business Adams and Sons Mortuary. Lunch will be served after the services The Sponsor for the Lunch is the Chrisitian County School System and Tom Bell/State Farm Insurance Company. A special Thanks to our Host Churches and their Pastors Dr. Rev. M.O. Fort and the Virginia Street Family and the Rev. C.E. Timberlake and the First Street Family. The March will be lead by the Kings and Queens Motorcycle Club and Local Law Enforcement Agencies to include The Hopkinsville Police Department, Christian County Sheriff's Department and The Oak Grove Police Department .
