Good evening all. It’s looking like the weather forgot to take its meds, because things are going to get crazy. Let’s start by with a High Wind Warning starting midnight tonight and lasting until midnight Friday night. With this high wind warning winds will blowing from the south/southwest at 20-30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. With the winds blowing this hard and the ground saturated, it will have the ability to blow trees over. Friday will be pretty much raining all day with chances of strong to severe thunderstorms as well. We can expect up to 2” of rainfall. A tornado can’t be ruled out of the equation with the strong winds and possible storms. Fridays high will be 54° and a low of 23°.

Saturday is looking to be sunny with winds from the west at 10-15 mph. The high will be 35° and the overnight low of 13°.

Sunday is going to be mostly cloudy. Snow chances will be starting around 4-ish pm and last all night long. Winds will be out of the north/northwest at 5-10 mph. Sundays high will be 24° and a low of 13°. Expected snow accumulation will be 2-4”.

Monday is looking to be cloudy and will still have a 20% of snowfall throughout the day. The high will be 20° and a low of 4°.

Tuesday will be just a bit of a repeat of Monday without the snowfall. The high will be 15° and a low of 5°.

Wednesday is going to be a tad bit warmer with sunny skies. The high will be 30° and a low of 23°.

So to break it all down, the weather will be crazy and extremely cold. If you have to travel, be sure to have a full tank of gas and some blankets just in case you get stuck. And be sure you leave a faucet dripping or a small stream to keep your water pipes from freezing. Hope everyone has a great weekend and a good start to next week.

Just a little update on our changing weather.

We are still under a wind advisory until 12:00pm Tuesday.
Models are showing a bit of a snow chance for Tuesday night roughly 10pm till midnight. Current models are showing a dusting to 1” is possible. Temperature will still be above freezing for the most part but drop a bit before the moisture leaves the area. But for you snow lovers, don’t get discouraged by the lack of the white stuff. There are still plenty of chances over the next 7 days. And for those that also love cold temperatures, you won’t be left out as well.

Good evening all. This week is looking to bring more cloudy and rainy days. Monday will be mostly cloudy with rain moving into the area around 6pm. Winds will be from the west at 10 mph. We will have a high of 50° and the overnight low of 40°. The rain will continue throughout Monday night and most of Tuesday morning. The rain should move out by the afternoon, but there will still be a 20% chance of some showers. The winds will be strong at 20+ mph from the west/southwest. The high will be in the upper 40s and the low will dip back down to near 30°.

Wednesday will start off cloudy with the hopes of maybe some sunshine by mid afternoon. Winds will be from the southwest at 10-15 mph. The high should be around mid 40s and lows in the mid 30s.

Thursday looks to be partly cloudy with a high near 50° and a low of 40°. Winds will be from the south/southwest at 5-10 mph.

As you know, I’ll return Thursday for the weekend forecast. As of right now, it’s going to be cold. So if you need to weather proof pipes and whatever else you do for cold weather, you may want to make plans now to do so.

Good evening all. It’s been a cloudy week with only a few hours of sunshine for the past few days. This weekend isn’t looking anybetter. Friday is going to be mostly cloudy with rain moving into the area after 6pm. Doesn’t look like any snow will be around with a high of 48° and a low of 37°.
Rain will still be in the area early Saturday morning before sunrise. It will remain cloudy all day with a 20% chance of rain. Rain chances will increase to 40% after sunset Saturday evening. The high temperature will be in the lower 40s and the overnight low looks to hold in the upper 30s.
Sunday will start off cloudy with a chance of possible peekaboo sunshine by the afternoon. The high will be in the mid 40s and the low in the upper 20s.

Good evening all. Here we are on the last day of 2023. Tomorrow is a new day and the start of a new year. As we go into the new year, don’t hold on to things from the old year. Just use the previous year as a learning experience and live stronger for the future days to come. But for now, live in the moment and enjoy the last hours of this day.

Now for the weather, Mondy is looking to be partly cloudy with a high of 40° and the low of 22°. The winds will be 5-10 mph from the northwest that will make it feel colder. The windchill will be in the mid 30s during the day.

Tuesday will be a bit warmer with a high of 45° under partly cloudy skies. The windchill wont be as bad but will be around 40°. Some clouds will be moving in by the afternoon. The overnight low will dip down to the mid 20s.

Wednesday will be cloudy with a high of 48°. The windchill will still be around 40°. The overnight low will be around 25°.

Thursday will bring us some mostly sunny skies with a high in the lower 40s and the overnight low in the mid 20s.

Now I have mentioned in a past forecast that there was a possibility of a snow around the 11th. As of right now, the forecast models are currently showing the snowfall will be holding just north of the Ohio River. I’m still going to watch it because things can still change between now and then.

Hello all, just dropping in for the update on the possibility of snow for Friday and into Saturday. As of right now we can expect about a 1/2” accumulation on the grassy areas. I don’t believe that it will be much of a travel hazard but be cautious of bridges/overpasses. I’m also watching another possible snow event that will be in the area around the 12th of January, give or take a day.

Now we may see a little snow tonight but I’m not expecting much out of this system. Friday-Saturday will be the main event for us to see an accumulation of snow. So enjoy watching the snowfall.

Good afternoon all and hope each of you has had a Merry Christmas. It may not have been a white one but sure has been a wet one. But I am watching some chances of snow for the end of the week. The forecast models really haven’t lined up in agreement on how much to expect. The models are showing as little as 1/2” or less and others are showing up to 4”. But the closer it gets, the better the forecast will be and I will give an update if we are expected to get some of that snow.

So for Tuesday, we will have partly cloudy skies with cooler temperatures. Our high will be 49° and the overnight low of 30°.

Wednesday looks to be mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of some showers after sundown. Our high will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s. The low will be in the mid to lower 30s.

Thursday will start off with a 50% chance of some snow. Really not looking like much accumulation with this. Temperatures should be above freezing by 8AM. Once the slightly warmer air moves in, we should see a 30% chance of showers for the remainder of the day. The overnight will be a bit tricky. This is where how much snow we may get from Thursday night and into Friday morning. The overnight low will be balancing around the freezing point. But it’s not set in concrete. If we drop below freezing, we may see some snow on the ground but the ground needs to be cold enough to acclimate it. The overnight low for Thursday will be 32°.

Friday snow is still in the forecast up until about 8AM when the temperature starts to rise above freezing. After that, we will have a 20% chance of showers for the day under cloudy skies. Our high will top off in the lower 40s with the overnight low in the upper 20s.

Saturday and Sunday both look to be partly cloudy with a high in the upper 40s and a low in the upper 20s.

Here it is, the last shopping days before Christmas, and the first day of winter. Hard to believe Christmas will be here in 4 days. This year has truly flown by and to me, it really doesn’t feel like Christmas outside. Mainly because Friday the high will be 60° with partly cloudy skies. Our overnight low will be near 45° with cloudy skies.

Saturday will be warm with a high of 62° under cloudy skies. We can expect a 20% chance of showers throughout the day. Through the evening we can still have a 20% chance for showers under cloudy skies and a low of 48°.

Sunday, Christmas Eve, is going to bring us mostly cloudy skies with a high of 65°. In the evening our rain chances start to increase, especially closer to the midnight hour. The low will be 51°. I do believe that Santa will be wearing a rain suit while delivering his packages in our area.

And for Christmas Day, it will be cloudy and rainy. The rain won’t start to taper off until after sundown. Our high temperature will be near 60° and the overnight low of 45°.

It was a bit chilly today with the cloudy skies. Monday we’ll see some sunshine but a little cooler. Our high will be 40° but with winds from the northwest at 20-30mph, the windchill will be at 30°. The overnight low will be 20° but the windchill will be in the mid teens.

Tuesday will be sunny with a high of 41°. The overnight will bring partly cloudy skies with a low of 25°.

Wednesday will be a bit warmer with partly cloudy skies and a high of 54°. Partly cloudy skies will carry over to the overnight hours and a low of 35°.

Thursday will bring mostly cloudy with a high of 55° and a low of 43°.

Good Friday morning everyone. It’s a beautiful sunny morning but with a slight chill in the air. We will see some clouds start to move in later this afternoon ahead of our next weather maker. We can expect a high of upper 50s to the lower 60s today. Tonight will be partly cloudy with lows in the lower 40s.

Then on Saturday we will have cloudy skies with a 30% chance of rain by midday. By 6pm, rain chance will have increased to 80%. If you plan to attend the Hopkinsville Christmas Parade, be sure to take an umbrella for just in case. We can see high temperatures in the mid 50s and lows in the lower 40s. Rain chances will start to diminish after midnight.

Sunday will bring us mostly cloudy skies and a bit cooler with our highs in the upper 40s. With the winds blowing from the northwest, it will feel cooler. We can expect partly cloudy skies during the overnight hours with lows in the lower 30s.

For those that were not affected by the storms/tornado, be thankful. An update for Saturday weather. Storm Prediction Center has increased the risk of severe storms for Saturday. Things have changed in the past 24 hrs since I put out the weekend forecast. We can expect anything for tomorrow including high winds. I posted the forecast cast maps from SPC for reference. Stay safe if you’re out and about. Stay weather alert for any severe storms that may roll through.

Good evening all. Hope some of you have had the chance to enjoy some of the sunshine I’ve seen through an office window. But all of that is going to change this weekend. The decision has already been made to postpone the Hopkinsville Christmas parade to Dec. 16th. Let’s breakdown the forecast and plan accordingly for the weather this weekend.

Friday will be mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of rain during the overnight. The high will be 62° and the low of 55°.

Saturday will be a pretty much a washout. We can expect thunderstorms with some of them on the strong side. Most of the severe weather will be south of us, mainly southern Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Our high will be 64° and a low of 35°.

Sunday will start with a few lingering showers in the morning with maybe a few peaks of sunshine by late afternoon. The high looks to be around 40° and a low of 25°.

Good evening all. We’ve made it through the week and another month. Now as we’re heading into December and the Christmas season, we can expect weird weather, a lot more Christmas music on the radio, and crazy people out buying what they can for their loved ones. As for me, I’ll just take someone buying me a weeks worth of groceries and I’ll be happy. But enough of that, let’s see what to expect for our weekend weather forecast.

Friday will be a wet start as we will have rain set in the early morning hours and should start leaving the area by sunrise or shortly thereafter. We can expect a 1/2”-1” of rainfall. Some showers may still drift through the area but I’m not seeing it be a total washout. Our high will be 62° and a low of 43°. Winds from the south at 10-15 mph.

Saturday looks to be mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers throughout the day. The high will be 56° and the low will be 45°. Winds from the west at 5 mph.

Sunday will be the best day for the weekend, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 57° and the low of 35°. Winds will be from the west at 10-15 mph.

Good evening all. It sure was a dreary day today but the next few days will be sunny but the downside is that it’s going to be a bit chilly. But before I get to the details of this weeks forecast, I’ve been watching a system that is to be here around the 9th and 10th. At the moment it’s still flip flopping in the weather models. One day it’s showing storms, the next update it shows snow, then the next update shows storms. I’m going to keep an eye on it but it is something to keep in the back of your mind and prep for. So now let’s see that weather forecast for the start of the week.

Monday and Tuesday will be sunny skies and a high of 43° and the low of 26°. Winds will be blowing at 5-15 mph from the west/northwest which will give a windchill of the mid 30s for highs and lower 20s for overnight lows.

Wednesday will be sunny with warmer temperatures of 55°. The overnight low will be 35°. Winds will be from the southwest at 15 mph, giving us a windchill but not too bad.

Thursday is looking to be mostly cloudy with another weather system coming in and lingering for a while. There will be a 30% chance of around after sundown and an 80% chance of rain by midnight. The highs will be near 60° and the lows in the mid 40s. Winds will be from the south at 10-15 mph.

Good day everyone. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I know I’m a bit late with the weekend forecast but I’ve been recovering from all the awesome food. You know, napping, sleeping and more napping. But if you’re out shopping those Black Friday deals, stay safe in your travels. Now on to the forecast.

Today will be mostly cloudy with a high of 52° and a low tonight of 30°. Winds will be from the north/northeast at 10-15 mph.

Rain will still be in the area to start the day on Tuesday. Rain should be out of the area by mid afternoon. Cloudy skies will remain for most of the night. The high for Tuesday will be 57° and a low of 35°.

Wednesday we will have partly cloudy skies and a high of 47° and the low of 32°.

Thanksgiving will be mostly cloudy but rain chances will rise during the overnight hours. The high temperature will be 55° and a low of 38°.
