Have you heard? has a special hot turkey sammich on the menu… and I got the hack to get one for FREE! 🫡

All you gotta do is sign up for their rewards program and you score a free sandwich! Then, all you do is spend $1.49 on a bowl of gravy… and IT’S ON! 💯

Sandwich itself was pretty good. Definitely needs the gravy. And still holds the crown with the Eleanor. 😍

Today is a big day for residential construction in Hawaii. 🫡

signed Senate Bill 3202, which requires counties to adopt or amend ordinances by Dec. 31, 2026, to allow for at least two accessory dwelling units (ADUs) on all residentially zoned lots. The bill also prohibits private covenants from including certain restrictions, supporting the efficient use of limited residential lands and making housing more attainable for residents. 🏡

“Housing has been and continues to be a top priority for my administration,” said Governor Green. “It’s a pretty exceptional day when we can move the needle on unlocking more housing across the state.” 🤙🏽

Man. This sucks. Not a lot of people will appreciate that J’s Diner is done at SALT.

Before all the construction, before all the gentrification… J’s Diner was a stalwart on the corner of Auahi and Keawe streets.

Now one of the last OGs in the neighborhood is done. I’m crushed.

Hmmm... would you? I would. 👍🏽

‘Olili Waikiki, the final addition to the new Waikiki Market in the former Food Pantry space on Kuhio Avenue, is set to open to the public at 4 p.m. today.

The second floor restaurant joins Piko Kitchen + Bar, which opened in January, to celebrate Hawai‘i’s food culture with authentic yet modern interpretations of the flavors found within Hawaii's rich and unique "mixed plate" culinary landscape.

‘Olili Waikiki’s menu was created by Senior Chef Brenton Lee, with the goal of giving each dish a sense of familiarity inspired by Hawai‘i’s favorite foods and culturally diverse tastes, while also taking them to new levels of delicious creativity.

Born and raised in Hawai‘i, Lee recently served as head chef of DB Restaurant Group, overseeing its Mad Bene and DB Grill restaurants in Kapolei. He is a former executive chef of Tribeca Grill in New York City and served as chef at Manhattan's COTE Korean Steakhouse and Lupa Osteria Romana.

Some of the dishes we got to try at a media preview on Tuesday were:

>> Guava-Smoked Fish Dip with marinated ikura and Diamond Bakery soda crackers
>> Hand-Cut Beef Tartare with shoyu-cured egg yolk
>> Chili Crab Noodles with Pacific Dungeness crab, shish*to and Fresno peppers, saffron-tamale emulsion and browned-butter breadcrumbs
>> Crispy Kona Kanpachi atop charred cabbage, topped with a scallion gremolata and placed in a bowl of Portuguese bean soup
>> Molten Mango Pie with liliko‘i caramel and liliko‘i boba

‘Olili Waikiki will offer daily dinner service from 4 to 10 p.m. Visit waikikimarkethawaii.com for more details and reservations.
