A celebrated singer, songwriter, musician and actor who redefined the sound of country music by making it more personal and serious . His contribution to the outlaw country movement that he helped create lives on in so many artists of today.
Kris did extensive solo work here at Sunset Sound as well as all those amazing albums with Rita Coolidge.

1971 inside the control room at John Lennon’s Ascot Sound Studios. The custom 16x8 console which used CADAC modules was designed by David Dearden & Eddie Veale who also designed the studio. Above the window are Veale’s custom main monitors which utilized Altec 604E drivers.
To the right is a 3M M23 8-track tape machine with eight Dolby 361 Noise
Reduction units above, and the corner of one of the studio’s Studer B62 mixdown decks. The IMAGINE sessions took place here with a 3M M56 8-track machine and the B62s were in custom cabinet.
