Happy Monday!!! Have a creative day!
Feeling Blue Tuesday - cute little acrylic flowers on a blue and gold metallic mono-print background for Day 10 of #the100dayproject
Happy Monday and today's addition to #the100dayproject. Acrylic Botanicals on paper!
"Creativity Takes Courage" French artist Henri Matisse quote says, “Another word for creativity is courage.” It takes courage to express your creativity and what you are passionate about and to transcend the limits of your comfort zone or the limits of your irrational fears. It takes courage to put your creativity out into the world! So I'm putting it out there, day 5 for #the100dayproject! Abstract Acrylic on journal paper.
"The "Art Life" chose me! From a very young age, I always knew I wanted to do something creative. I have had the opportunity to do many diverse and creative things from designing logos and advertisements, to drawing technical illustrations and making catalogs, before landing in the world of textiles. This was a very rewarding experience as I designed upholstery and area rugs and had the opportunity to travel frequently to New York & Europe while working with an amazing team. I relocated to Michigan in 2001 and after 9/11 things became more virtual and I spent many years only creating things that were computer generated and seen online. I have missed making things by hand and in the past few years have tried to be more hands-on. There is something very satisfying with going "OFF LINE" to make something by hand and being in control of the final piece instead of hitting backspace or delete!
#the100dayproject, it is a chance to DO MORE, sketch more and perhaps create a masterpiece by attempting something creative every day for 100 Days.
This is day 3! Acrylic Monoprint on Journal Paper.
"Do more sketches!" This was the mantra our professors endlessly chanted in the art department at UGA. While we moaned and groaned when we thought we had designed something magnificent, we knew that they were reminding us to always try for something unique and never settle for our first attempt. Even if sometimes the first one was the best one, at least you knew for sure there was not something better just waiting to be created. That is why I participate in #the100dayproject, it is a chance to DO MORE, sketch more and perhaps create a masterpiece by attempting something creative every day for 100 Days.
This is day 2!
Our sweet Athena is so adorable, it's her time to be a model for the canvas. I love this picture that I took of her the day after we adopted her. I bought this cute coat, that fit her for about 2 months, but she sure looked pretty all dressed up. This is just the underpainting so her colors are all mixed up and looking crazy. I'll post the final painting tomorrow so stay tuned!
