Are you feeling the shifts that come with midlife? The subtle, and sometimes not-so-subtle, changes that leave you wondering what your body needs now?
I’ve been deeply immersed in developing a program, Midlife, Menopause, and Beyond, and it’s been a journey of discovery about just how transformative it can be to tune into our bodies at this stage in life.
Consider this: the 1920s, the average lifespan for women was 54, and the typical age for menopause was 47. Today, women live to about 85, experiencing menopause around age 51. That means our grandmothers faced just 7 years post-menopause; we have 30+ years to navigate.
With more time comes a greater need to care for ourselves intentionally—and incredible opportunities to care for ourselves in ways our mothers and grandmothers never experienced.
Our bodies are asking for a different kind of support now, especially as those natural protectors, like estrogen, start to diminish.
When symptoms like hot flashes, brain fog, and emotional shifts arise, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed. These experiences are real and challenging. But what if we began to view each signal as our body’s way of reaching out, asking for something it needs?
We have the power to respond with small, supportive actions that make a meaningful difference in your days and life.
That’s why I want to encourage you to take small, manageable steps toward supporting your body. Whether it’s listening more closely to what she’s asking for or incorporating little lifestyle changes, you have the power to make a big difference.
Start by learning what your body is going through and becoming aware of what’s happening within. When you tune in, you have a beautiful opportunity to hear when she speaks to you.
Small, manageable changes are important.
Maybe it’s as simple as adding an extra home-cooked meal each week, choosing whole foods, eliminating gluten or sugar from your diet, or taking a quick daily walk.
Every little step you take adds up, supporting your well-being now and setting the stage for decades of health and vitality ahead.
Your body is talking—are you ready to listen?
