In 1972 I was alone; very, very alone. I was in the barracks and I fell to my knees as said, "Oh God, Help me." (Nothing happened; no earthquake nor thunder)
I thought to myself that God must not be real or He would have showed up but there I was, still alone.
I went outside and sat on the stair railing and cleared my mind and wondered about my life. Not 10 minutes went by when a beautiful girl in an old rattletrap of a car drove up. She said, "Hi, wanna go for a ride?"
Well, I thought my luck had changed and I wasn't going to be alone for the night. I told her ,"Yes". I get into the car and she drove around the base as we talked. Just 'get to know you' kind of talk.
It started to get dark when she pulled into a parking space and I knew things were about to get REALLY GOOD.
She turned to me and asked me if I died, would I go to Heaven. I told her that I didn't know. She said," Would you like to know?"
I told her, "Yes".
Well, she reached behind my seat and brought out a Bible and a flashlight. I remember feeling how the air got thick and real. It felt like I could cut the air with a knife. I remember thinking that.
She told me that God sent her to find me. I gave my heart and life to Jesus Christ that night.
Now, before you roll your eyes and scroll on...she lived an our away. That means that God told her to leave her house and go to Mac Dill Air Force Base and find me... BEFORE I fell to my knees; BEFORE I asked Him to help me; BEFORE I felt a need for God in my life.
To get in Mac Dill AFB (A Top Secret Base with lots of Generals), her needed a special sticker on the front bumper or the guards would have turned her back.
Somehow, the guards must have seen a supernatural sticker because there she was on a Top Secret Military Base without permission and authority.
But she had The Holy Spirit with her and that she had God's permission and Authority and the guards waved her through as if she had a sticker.
I have asked God to remind me of the name of the girl who was so courageous and obedient to boldly drive through the gate, find me and bring me to salvation.
He tells my heart that her name is unimportant but that He sent her, got her on the base, directed her to where I was and that Jesus saved me. He tells me that the only name that's important to my story is the name of Jesus.
I think some one of you needs to hear my testimony; to know that God knows you and knows your need for Him, even if you don't know right now. He knows that you're about to hit bottom and wants me to tell you He's On The Way to find you.
