**EDIT: ADOPTED!!** MIAMI, FL: Frida is an angel— and yet, she has sat in a shelter waiting for an adopter to find her for six long years. Frida is now in foster care and, like so many long timer shelter dogs, she's proving to be very adaptable despite not living in a home for so many years. She enjoys the company of other dogs and is just a really happy girl overall. Frida has a list of qualities a mile long, so who is going to be the lucky adopter to scoop up this senior gem?! PLEASE SHARE!
Born Free Pet Shelter wrote, "Frida is a boxer-mix who is approximately 8 to 9 years old. Frida has been in the shelter for 6 years - way too long for this fantastic, sweet dog. Unfortunately, every time we post Frida, she receives very little interest, which is strange because she is a perfect companion for any family and a volunteer favorite.
Frida went into a foster home three months ago and adapted to the good life immediately. Frida is very loving, calm and will always greet you with enthusiasm, but never jump on you. She waits patiently at the front door for her daily walks and walking her on a leash is a breeze; she never pulls and is well-trained. Frida will sit on command and is smart. She does not bark and is totally house-trained.
Frida gets along great with other dogs and loves going to the dog park, which she does quite often. She likes having fun running after the other dogs! Currently, Frida lives with two other dogs and shows no signs of aggression; in fact, she happily will share her bed, a bone, or a bowl of food with her brother. She shows interest in cats, but she has never been tested with them.
Frida is in good health and up to date on all her vaccinations. She will need to be monitored for a benign lipoma (fatty lump) on her leg, but otherwise is a healthy, happy dog and deserves a great home that will appreciate how perfect she is.
Born Free Pet Shelter is a small shelter so transport is not available. If an adopter lives out of state, the foster family might be able to drive Frida a little closer but it would depend on the adoption family's location."
