We have been notified that the Henderson County Schools System has decided to dismiss classes early today due to the impending weather. They will start dismissing the children at noon today.

*Airline Road is closed in the normal flash flooding spot
*Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm threats through 3PM today
*Wind and small hail are primary threats with storms
*Total rainfall estimates up to 2” or higher in isolated areas
*40 to 60 MPH wind gusts into this evening are possible with front passage this afternoon
*Henderson County is under a “High Wind” warning
*Bitterly COLD temps arrive with front passage (84+ hours of freezing temps)
*Lows from Sunday through Tuesday will be in the single digits
*Tuesday night wind chills down to -18 degrees

Community Baptist Church has planted another Blessing Box (thank you, Roger Culver and Sybil Keach) and will serve those in need in partnership with The Presbyterian Church (thank you, Rev Eric Hoey!) in the downtown area. The box is in front of Presbyterian Church at the corner of Main and Washington St. The days ahead will definitely impact the homeless population in that area. If you want to help, you can bring supplies to restock the box and make a huge difference in the lives of people right here in our hometown. Please bring only individual servings that do not require refrigeration, and are easy to open without tools (pop-top cans or packs of tuna for example). We are "Being the presence of Christ, serving a world in need."
