Wise words from my friend Josh Merritt
You ain’t all right and they ain’t all wrong. That goes for both sides. I tell myself this constantly. That and the golden rule runs through my veins.
I really hope people can find some common ground somewhere in the upcoming weeks. Remember, no matter how chaotic it may seem, it takes both sides standing hard like this. That’s the system.
We are all hurting different, and we all think our hurt is more important than the others hurt in a weird way. Everytime I hear an argument from either side, it’s usually one issue that the person is standing hard on and it’s usually an issue that does/could affect them directly. In the risk the other side has abandoned all empathy, we think we must do the same to match it. We don’t. We all need to hear both sides to find a place somewhere in the middle.
At the end of the day, we are Americans. I truly still believe in that. I’d sure hate it if we all thought and looked EXACTLY the same. That’s not America.
If no one else tells you today, I love you, no matter what you’re going through.
United we stand. Divided we fall.
