The Hofstra Chronicle at the ’s 2024 Folio Awards 🎉📰

Next year’s Editor-in-Chief, Makenzie Hurt, and Managing Editor, Frankie DiCalogero, accepted the “Best Newspaper” student award in honor of The Hofstra Chronicle’s 2023-2024 Editor-in-Chief, Anna DeGoede, and Managing Editor, Julian Rocha and The Hofstra Chronicle team.

News Editor, Lily Spinda, accepted the student award in “Health” for her article “Bugs, Plastic and Critical Violations in the Student Center Caf” from Dec. 6.

BREAKING NEWS🚨🚨 ’s Unispan is open! This afternoon, the University received approval from the New York State Department of Transportation to open the Unispan to pedestrian traffic.

Hofstra University closed down its main unispan bridging across Hempstead Turnpike at 2:16pm after a truck crashed into the structure.

The Turnpike itself was later closed to cars in both directions as police investigated the matter.

Students are encouraged to use the Netherlands Unispan as the main unispan remains closed for repair, per the University in an email sent at 3:41pm.
