The Next World’s Fair
I founded Next World’s Fair back in 2005 when I was wrapping up postproduction of my first film. The name comes from a Joe Strummer lyric. I was young and idealistic. In the intervening years, I lost touch with that young idealist.
It’s only now that the importance of “next world’s fair” - as a phrase, as a worldview, as a purpose - is starting to make sense all over again. My young self knew a thing or two.
Don’t ever feel embarrassed for who you were if who you were was an idealist. If we all give up on our childish notions of how we want the world to work, it will never work.
