Winter is coming... in January 😆

🥶YIKES - Bundle up! Get ready for a dramatic temperature swing!

Despite the current warm spell, a massive arctic blast is likely to hit the US in early to mid-January. While forecast models hint at a potentially record-breaking chill in the first week of January, it's too early to predict just how cold it will get and exactly when.

One thing is certain: the first two weeks of January will bring the first taste of winter to most of the country, ending the warmer-than-usual weather that's expected to last through the end of 2024.

Of course everything is all out of line for Christmas type weather on Christmas. The cold front is moving in now through the weekend and then warm and wet by Wednesday.

We'll track cooler conditions throughout the weekend. Then, we should warm up and see increasing rain chances heading into Christmas Day.

2534 days and counting(as of December 11). That's how long the snow drought is in Savannah. The last snow was January 3, 2018! Who remembers that awesome day!?!?

On average we see snow about once every 5 years. Are you hoping the streak ends and it snows this winter? Jeremy Nelson

The cold front pushed down on us overnight and brought some good rain this morning. Nearly 3/4in so far, but it's about done for our area. Get ready for a day or two of cold and then a slight warm up this weekend.
