Preserving Gay Spirit!
The Gay Spirit collection is one of few complete LGBT radio broadcast archives in the United States and is a repository containing archival material pertaining to issues of importance to the LGBT community, such as interviews with HIV/AIDs authors, the beginning of marriage equality in Connecticut (the third state to pass marriage equality legislation in the United States) and features music recorded by LGBT entertainers across the U.S. and abroad. Gay Spirit is produced on the campus of the University of Hartford at WWUH 91.3FM. Since 1985 Gay Spirit has been a weekly community-oriented alternative radio program.
