There Are 169 Reasons To Love Road Races In Connecticut

Very nice work by Cloe and Lori!! And just in time to get everyone excited about the Manchester Road Race!

Maybe you're new to this running thing. Or you're a veteran road racer. You head out one Saturday morning to run your local 5K, perhaps the one the rec department puts on annually, or the one that benefits a scholarship at the high school.

Hartford Police Department officer Vinnie Marfella helps a woman (who asked not to be identified) across Franklin after she passed through a police line and walked down a sidewalk adjacent to a burning building. Officer Marfella stopped her before she got too close to the three-story building housing residences, a bodega and a tailor. The fire was so intense, firefighters were ordered out of the building. Flames burned through the roof, and shortly before 1:45 p.m., firefighters were warned to stay away from the front of the building for fear of collapse. Officer Marfella said the woman did not seem to be aware of the activity surrounding the building. Photograph by Mark Mirko | [email protected]

UConn fans in the student section, who had been cheering wildly seconds before, look stunned as Texas player Jonathan Holmes hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give 7th ranked Texas a shocking 55-54 win Sunday.
The photo says it all. Take a close look and feel their pain.
