“So this happened in Montana. I'm on my way to go to my interview this morning when I get pulled over by a police officer.

I am native American and my friend that was with me is black. Just saying.

Both brake lights decided to go out this time.

As he walked to the car and I was pulling out my stuff, he quickly said,

"Don't worry about pulling anything out. I just want you to know that your brake lights are out."

So I'm immediately upset, because I just got them replaced like last month.

So I explained to him how Firestone wants to charge me $600 just to run a test on the wiring of the car.

He looked at me like 😨 and told me to pop the trunk.

He checked the lights in the trunk and tapped them, but they didn't come on.

So he told me to pop the hood to check the relay box then asked me to get out to check the other one.

Then worked on the wiring under the dash.

He could've easily given me a ticket, but Officer Jenkins stepped out of officer role, and into mechanic role, and human role to make sure I was straight.

By the way HE FIXED THEM."

These are some pics from the very first ROCKtoberfest that NAPAC designed to raise the funds we needed to build KBHQ-FM. We held three more after this one - each one better than the last. The event was pushed out because of other festivals that started after this first one, and we weren't asked to play along. We can do it again - with some help! Become a member of NAPAC! First Annual "ROCK-toberfest" to benefit North Arkansas Performing Artists Coalition in their mission to preserve Independent Music, lend assistance to local school music programs, and to bring Community Radio to Harrison, Arkansas.

I first met Russ in 1993 when we worked together at KHOZ. He was not only one of the most recognized voices in Harrison, he was involved in the community and cared about his fellow workers. Farewell my friend. 😔😔😔

Our community has lost one of it's best. Russ O'Neil has passed away. He was 63. Russ, you will be missed.

The shed is in place, the electric was installed today, and the antenna was mounted! Now, the city has to inspect the work, which will be done on Monday, and some little electrical stuff needs to be put in place. We're waiting for the AC unit to keep things cool, and then we can run our tests - looks like we'll make that September 1st re-launch date! What a view - huh? That's just over 100 feet higher than we've ever been - so Q-ROCK should be running strong when we flip that switch! Thanks again to EVERYONE who made all this possible!!!

LATEST UPDATE - Yes, we're still here, and making progress.... slower than thought, but KBHQ is returning VERY SOON! Here's the deal - all the equipment is here. I have a guy that will climb the tower to hang the antenna ready to go, the electrician is ready to start, and our equipment shed has been ordered.

SO - the shed has to be in place before the electrician can actually start, and the cable has to be run up the tower so we know how far the shed can be from the power source. Of course, the on again/off again weather makes it a little hard to plan when to climb that tower, and we don't know yet when the shed can be delivered. I'm hoping to hear before the weekend.

ISN'T ENGINEERING FUN?!?!?!

Keep the faith my friends, and we'll make it through. I have ALOT of makeup work to do, so any support is mostly appreciated!!!

I'm looking forward to being with you again very soon!

UPDATE - We've been working with our engineers, and getting it all mapped out. We're waiting on an electrician, who can't get to our site until after the holiday. If we can get that part worked out (without too much expense), looks like about another week. Thanks to everyone for all the support! We'll keep you posted!

The equipment has arrived! Now we need to coordinate with the engineers - and hopefully the weather will cooperate - and KBHQ 100.7 FM will heat up again in time for the Summer Months! Keep watching here for our progress!

OK everyone - here's an update. Over the last several months, many businesses around our listening area have stepped up to the plate to help us get back on air - especially the Harrison CVB. Sadly, many of the business owners we've spoken to either put their nose in the air when I talk to them about our station - others make promises and don't live up to their word.

The good news - of those who have made their contribution, they have brought our antenna fund to where we are only $500 short.

Between the pages for Q-ROCK and NAPAC, there are more than 1,000 of you who "Like" our work. I've asked for you to join our membership at $15 a month - no one responded... we all have our circumstances.

Since we are so close to our goal, and I get lots of you asking when we're coming back on air, I'm going to ask each of you to make a ONE TIME contribution to NAPAC of at least $5. If everyone pitched in, we would well exceed our goal - but I don't expect everyone to jump on board.

If only 100 of you who really "Like" us, and not just someone who clicks at random on Facebook, then we'll get the job done. Remember - this is "Community" radio - and ads don't pay for our existence. Can we count on your support?

If want to keep LOCAL radio in Harrison, please use our PayPal link - https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=6WAZNHRVRK296&source=url to make your contribution.

Thank you.

This was from our First Anniversary in 2016. Today would be our Fourth. We're still working on getting our antenna placed, and we're just a cable away. Won't you help us with a donation to bring local radio back to Harrison? PM for details on how you can help. Thanks!
