Liz Fulmer Music: "'All Good' is a song I've been slowly writing for the past several years. What I'm trying to do lyrically is broaden what it means to be inclusive. I think especially in church world, so often churches or people of faith will use their faith to divide people. So the song was trying to use a sense of belovedness as the thing that draws people together."

"I often don’t use obvious religious language because I think sometimes that, when you bring that in, it’s like it’s saying that there’s a separation between relationship and community and then there’s God over here. But actually, I think where we most often meet God is in each other, in the relationships we establish in the work of loving people."

Our conversation with Liz Fulmer Music was fascinating and inspiring, and the musical performances were top-notch. Check it out:

Liz Fulmer:
The Beatitudes song was written because the text itself had a sort of lyrical, almost built-in rhyme the way it's written. And so I grabbed a guitar and just began humming along to what it could sound like as a song. And the song just really popped out pretty quickly after that. And I love the Beatitudes outside of the song, just for the message they convey.

Why is this song called "Pancake"?

"I had a bad take," says keyboardist Reed Cormier. He's describing one of the band's recording sessions.

"I didn’t know what else to say, but I just said, well throw that pancake in the trash."

Hannah Bingman back in 2018: “I’ve actually been section-hiking the Appalachian Trail for the past five years. I’ve done about 630 miles."

She goes alone.

“It’s kind of spiritual for me I guess. Even though there are other people out there. Just to have everything you need on your back walking ten plus miles a day.”

Joe: I’m curious about how you name the songs. Is there any rhyme or reason to how that happens?

Austin: Absolutely not.

Throwback to 2018 with Corinna Joy

"There’s a lot of sneaky abuse out there. We’ve allowed it to kind of roam unchecked in our society, and I think there’s more to relationships than being wrong for each other, sometimes there’s something that is just wrong, and there’s a person that’s just unhealthy for you. And so I’ve kind of become in a way I think the protector on this album. And I’m kind of proud of that."
