A military aircraft carrying ’s vice president Saulos Chilima has been reported missing after it failed to make a landing Monday morning, the government said.
“All efforts by aviation authorities to make contact with the aircraft since it went off the radar have failed thus far,” the government said in a statement.
The plane, which took off just after 9:00 am local time, was carrying 51-year-old Chilima and nine others.

*Ambassador Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba Visits Arnavutköy And Kayseri Detention Centers, Where Over 200 Sierra Leoneans Are Being Held*

*Ankara, Turkiye, Wednesday 5 June 2024 -* Sierra Leone Ambassador to Turkiye, His Excellency Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba together with senior members of the Embassy in Ankara, has on the 23rd May and 4th June 2024 visited the Arnavutköy and Kayseri Detention Centers, where approximately 220 (Two hundred and twenty two) Sierra Leoneans are being held for immigration related offenses.

Detention Centers are the places where administrative detention decision is made among people who do not have the right to stay in Turkiye, and who will be sent back to their country

Arnavutköy district is one of the districts in Istanbul where the immigrant population is densely populated, more than 1,500 different immigrants, and about 82 different nationals live.

Counting The Trips...

, , and an undisclosed delegation have departed Sierra Leone to attend the 2024 Korea-Africa Summit in Seoul on June 4-5, 2024.

President Bio's update on his handle on his traveling shows that he has made about twenty trips in almost a year since his re-election in June 2023 including the recent Clean Cooking Summit in Paris, and another to Brussels in November 2023 to receive an award.

At an event at the State House in December 2021, while justifying his traveling and the benefits to the country, President Bio assured his audience that he would continue to fly.

Popularly referred to as "Tok Ehn Do" by his supporters, the President has kept to his promise as he continues to fly with Private Jets amidst hardship and the economic challenges the country is grappling with.

The recent Audit Service Sierra Leone 2024 Performance Audit of the Freetown City Council (FCC) shows that MUVA hall at Circular Road, Freetown which the FCC said they rented for youth workshops/seminars is a private residence where workshops or seminars cannot be organized.

Auditors further observed that transport allowances of SLE500 were given to each participant according to the list submitted but the people who were contacted based on their telephone numbers in the list did not know about the program and confirmed that they never received such allowances from the Council.

They have recommended that the money for hall rental and transport allowances be refunded but FCC says the amount should not be refunded and they would rather adopt better controls.

In the 2019 Audit Report, the FCC also reportedly made payments totaling over Two Hundred Million for traveling expenses for the Head of 's Mayor Delivery Unit (MDU), who is not an employee of the FCC.

The Report further claimed that the said amounts paid were not budgeted for by the Council nor did they receive appropriate approval.

Eight people were taken to the Ola During Children's Hospital earlier today for treatment following a suspected food poisoning incident at Mill Street, around Magazine Court according to . The patients are reportedly stable and responding to treatment.

This is the second report of a suspected food poisoning case within a week that has affected over 80 people in .

Meanwhile, the patients who were admitted at the Connaught Hospital over the weekend for suspected food poisoning at Marbella Community have been discharged. The 2 who were in critical condition and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit are still at the Hospital according to the health authorities.

The standard of the legal profession was lowered with such chaos and rancor in Kenema during the Bar Association elections.

I am not sure even if its members are proud of what's in the public. Shameful and disgraceful for the custodians of our law.

Depiste all the challenges it is faced with, the legal profession is still respected. The more reason why so many young people are trying their best to become lawyers, they see some of those in suits not as gangsters but as role models.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

People called him mad-man but I was surprised when he moved close to me,
He said, “can I ask you a very important question?”

I nodded, in acceptance, and then,
he asked, “am I a mad man?”

The obvious answer, from a sane person, will be, "no," and that was what I said.
“Thank you!”, he replied;

then he said,

“Just because I don’t see things the way other people do, does that make me a mad man?”

"No", I answered again.

He bent down, wrote “W,” and asked me what he wrote. At this point, I was already feeling ashamed, getting involved in a lengthy conversation with him.

In a hurry to leave, I said “w,” but I was amazed when he replied to my answer,
“You only see 'W,' because of the angle at which you are looking at it.

If you turn upside down, you'll see “M;”
If u look from the right side, it is “3;”
and looking at it from the left side, it is “E.”

The fact that I don’t see things at the perspective that everyone is seeing it doesn’t make me a mad man, he said. Then he left.

I pondered for so long about this and its application to life.

Because We act, and relate to people, based on the perspective at which we are looking at their situation.

Have you taken your time to look at other possible perspectives?

I then decided that, before I get angry with, or act against, or judge anyone that has done something unfavourable to me, I will view it in at least three possible perspectives;
1. My own perspective,
2. His own perspective and
3. Others' perspective'.

So, before you judge people, before you rage your anger on them, take a little time to view their angle or perspective, and, if you still cannot see a reasonable reason, then you may act REASONABLY .
