Happy Tuesday! Black stories belong on every shelf—especially for our children 📚✨

Did you know that for decades, Black children’s literature was nearly nonexistent in mainstream publishing? For a long time, our babies couldn’t see themselves reflected in the books they read. But thanks to Black authors, illustrators, and publishers fighting for representation, we’re changing that narrative—one book at a time.

Seeing one of BlackGold Publishing’s titles among so many children’s books is a reminder of how far we’ve come and how much further we can go. Our kids deserve to see themselves as heroes, dreamers, and history-makers. And we’re just the ones to do it!🖤

BlackGold Spotlight 🔦✨

What a full circle moment! BlackGold’s very own James Golden (), author of one of our largest (nearly 700 pages long!) and most popular titles, “Greek Pinz,” had a fateful run-in with a familiar face at the school where Golden teaches.

It was there, nearly 20 years ago, that Golden was merely a student himself — and made the connection with one of his all-time favorite teachers, Ms. Marie Putzke! It was Putzke whom Golden ran into in those very same Halls last month, and she had a big surprise!

To support Golden, Putzke had purchased a copy of his title, “Greek Pinz,” and was able to tell him just how proud of him she was. Golden autographed the copy, making this reunion that much more heartwarming and special. We LOVE to see moments like this 💕
