In the November issue, we celebrate all things art and culture.

Part of this celebration springs from the anticipation of show season returning to our city. The other part comes from the chance to showcase the local creatives whose vision and energy make Miami-Dade the ultimate culture club.

David LaChapelle is one of those creatives. The iconic visual artist is unveiling a new studio in Aventura, and we have the honor of showcasing a deep selection of his works and a never-before-seen self-portrait for the cover in celebration of his arrival.

To see some of our favorite images from David’s prolific portfolio and learn more about his storied career, read on in the November issue.

Take it from Tua Tagovailoa: football fans matter. “The fans have gotten louder and louder over the years since I’ve been here,” the Miami Dolphins fifth-season quarterback says. “None of the support from our fans goes unnoticed, and we really appreciate that as players.”

In the October issue, we wade into the The Deep End, where die-hard fans cheer on their team, and meet three superfans who embody that Deep End spirit.

In the October issue, we step inside the arena with the Florida Freedom—a professional bull riding team that’s making cowboy culture cool in the midst of Miami’s heat.

This just in: The Florida Freedom went 1-2, earning an upset win against the top-ranked Carolina Cowboys during the 2024 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series this past weekend. John Crimber was named the 2024 PBR Teams MVP.

The Miami native says fashion was always in the cards. He learned to sew in the ninth grade and crafted prom dresses for his friends inspired by Vivienne Westwood, Michael Kors for Celine, and Alexander McQueen. He went on to study fashion at the International Fine Arts College (now known as Miami International University of Art & Design) before spending a year at the Paris Fashion Institute.

When he landed at Rene Ruiz Collection in 2008, it was a match made in heaven. “Evening wear is my passion,” Escudero says. “I’m lucky. It’s fun for me, and at this point, it’s second nature.”

Watery wonders await at “Away with the Tides,” a new exhibition by artist Calida Rawles now on display at the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM).

Showcasing Black residents of Overtown, Rawles paints her subjects as they swim or float in water—in part, a nod to Miami’s water-rich environment.

We caught up with the artist to learn more about her first solo museum show in the United States. Read on here:

What does it mean to live your best life with health, happiness, and purpose? To find out, we present our Health & Wellness–themed May issue.
On the pages of May, we offer a guide for the journey to happiness, complete with advice and strategies from happiness coaches, therapists, and psychologists; how-tos on raising healthy houseplants; and a curated list of hundreds of Miami-Dade's top doctors.

Plus, this month marks the return of Miami Race Week, including the third installment of the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix at Hard Rock Stadium. This year’s race features the debut of a new series, the Formula 1 Academy, that showcases up-and-coming female drivers, ages 16 to 25. We caught up with cover star Lia Block, one of only two American F1 Academy drivers who’ll take the track in Miami this month.

Now that the holiday season is upon us, our thoughts are turning to all things home. That’s why the November issue of Aventura showcases design (and life) at home and across the Magic City.

For a dose of festivity—and a feast worth all the oohs and aahs—we got a sneak peek of Thanksgiving at the Miami Beach home of Michelin-starred restaurateur and gourmand David “Fooqs” Foulquier and his fiancée, Danielle Hultman. In short, it is a celebration of food, family, and free spirits.

Get in on the festivities and all things "home" in the November issue, out now.

It's no secret that we're head over heels for Miami. From our beaches to our nightlife to our cultural institutions and beyond, there’s no shortage of things to do in the Magic City. That’s why the October issue turns the spotlight on some of the people and places that make our community great.

We meet the people who make us laugh, like Carlos Hernandez, the comedian behind . There are the people who make us cheer, like Inter Miami CF striker Josef Martínez. And let’s not forget the people who feed us, including Anastasia Koutsioukis and Ahmet Erkaya of Mandolin Aegean Bistro and other area establishments, who invite us into their home for a feast.

With so much to explore, we offer more than 100 ways to see Miami with new eyes so that you can be a tourist in your own town.
